23/5/2012 14:12 | As Phillis says its relation to market cap is irrelevant. At $2M or £1.3M however one wishes to express it, its certainly a significant contract win and rightfull we as shareholders should know about. I view management as extremely ambitious and im more than happy to hold/add to my shareholding. | cfro
23/5/2012 13:39 | no emotion at all - just factual as is the Company RNS and worthy for it Companies don't give info on like for like sales until IMS or interims/prelims - fact | phillis
23/5/2012 13:06 | Phillis, as I said... No I don't think it's worthy of special mention. As always, that's only my view. Your view is difficult to detect through the cloud of emotion. Using phrases like "load of codswallop" tends to inhibit constructive discussion. As you say yourself - "3% of last years (sic) turnover" - that tends to speak for itself. Can you tell from today's announcement whether they're ahead of or behind budget? How are sales progressing in comparison with last year on a LFL basis? | judgement
23/5/2012 12:12 | Never heard such a load of codswallop Reported in $ because it is earned in $ and translated into different amount of £ as and when billed Represents about 3% of last years turnover and is the largest contract ever won I think (need to check the Scottish planning one way back) So worthy of a special mention don't you think? Its relationship to market cap is irrelevant | phillis
23/5/2012 10:35 | Clocktower, I don't disagree with what you say. I would just add that my preference is for quiet over-delivery. This current approach sounds too much like shouting from the rooftops prior to the event, and over-delivery is difficult if you over-promise. Perhaps it's an indicator that they'd like to do more paper based acquisitions. While I quite like Idox's LA business, and their apparent skill in integrating, this aspect of the company makes me very wary. | judgement
23/5/2012 10:16 | Judgement, I acknowledge your views but in view that the company has in the past endevoured to keep all investors well informed, and not just those on the inside. To me it is not only the value of the contract but with whom they have signed this contract. This could lead to far more work and I view the RNS as a flag to announce what a big potential client this is rather than the value of this contract with them. That said it is pleasing to see a debate take part on these threads and to be able to consider all views, some of which one might not have taken inmto account. | clocktower
23/5/2012 10:08 | The market cap is about £109m. The sale was $2m, which is under £1.3m or 1.17% or the market cap. It was announced in $ and not £, which is the group reporting currency. To others it's a positive or good communication. To me it's concerning that they see fit to announce routine business in this way. Why not include in in a trading update that gives LFL revenues - only that way can any meaningful information be drawn. | judgement
23/5/2012 09:42 | Weird to see the share price reaction this morning to...what is..a significant contract win. Top-up opportunity imo... | cfro
23/5/2012 09:12 | First Class RNS - I expect profits to reflect the success which in turn will show that the current share price has still a long way to rise imo. | clocktower
23/5/2012 08:59 | Yes: more good news. | bluebelle
23/5/2012 08:04 | $2m in a 12 month period is a serious amount for Idox plc let alone McLaren | phillis
23/5/2012 07:25 | Yet another contract win, this company goes from strength to strength. :-) | cfro
23/5/2012 07:07 | Nice contract win...... TIDMIDOX Idox PLC 23 May 2012 23 May 2012 IDOX plc Engineering information unit, McLaren Software, secures $2.0m contract with OXY Inc. 21/5/2012 13:26 | Good to see IDOX firming. And nicely ontrend chart-wise. | cfro
16/5/2012 21:03 | Yes encouraging given the wider market. I have, however, noted some large selling volumes since the 11th May (large blocks totalling over 4 million shares). Hopefully just profit taking after a good run and not linked to trading statement that should be due soon (last year 18 May). | rp19
16/5/2012 18:28 | Sp refusing to give back much isnt it, which is extremely encouraging. | cfro
14/5/2012 19:45 | C&C good to see you here from the STI boards. I've been holding IDOX for about 4 months too and is a long term hold for me also. | ryanandbethanjones
11/5/2012 14:57 | trading update May 18th last year - same again this year? CR | cockneyrebel
10/5/2012 06:39 | A solid long term hold/accumulate for me, the market is twitchy at the moment so a few bailing out is no surprise...I believe the share price has a lot further to travel as the company grows... | charlotteandcressida
