Wad collector did you put up that gable wall that fell down a couple of days ago! :¬) |
Brick work uses mortar not cement fortunately, and is mixed from mainly sand, most cement is in foundations or precast products, won't affect bricks too much. |
Most of my bricklaying is without cement, is that why my houses fall down? |
oh I think its good news without a doubt |
Also builders will pre order to get price fixed now and stop the price inflation. So again good news. |
Well doesn't that mean that they can't make them fast enough? Well that has to be good news? |
blocks delivery is now August.
Can you lay them only if you can get Cement
tiger |
Both ibst and fort moving up today on decent volume |
Material shortage headlines suggest not particularly bricks, which if correct is not good for IBST if projects get delayed by other material shortages. |
Been topping up here, cannot help thinking they have the whip hand on pricing |
Good update from Forterra... well fairly good. Ibstock's last update was also good, share price still lagging for no good reason.
Holding on confidently to my brick shares. |
Markets are not always rational... thank goodness :)) |
I don't really see that what is happening in the markets will stop the uk wanting bricks somehow? Bricks are on the list of short supplies! |
I keep buying |
Looks to be shaping up a bit, is it a winner? |
I agree @daneswooddynamo.
I have shifted some FORT money into IBST until the disparity is reversed... |
Can’t help feeling ibstock has 10-15 percent in it to reset relative to forterra |
Excellent update.
Forterra up nearly as much as Ibstock after this update. Forterra more of a market favourite at the moment, but I feel confident that will correct in due course... |
Modestly ahead of forecasts, £12m EBITDA to be added and confident in the future. As per previous comments here, I suspect they could upgrade again.
The market continues to refuse to factor this in with the shares substantially off pre-covid levels.
It has almost become a trading share this, it lurches sharply about in both directions. That said, a few stubborn ones showing a some signs of life of late so perhaps patience will pay off here too.
All imo DYOR |
This stock was the worse performing share in my Investment Club's share Competition for the past 12 months. We therefore decided to buy some this morning and I'm pleased with the performance over the past 3 hours! |
Management are "comfortable" with consensus earnings given continuing uncertainty. That seems to me to isuggest that if normality comes and there are no shocks they should beat consensus.
I believe consensus is the range 14-19p. So for me a price of 230p is not particularly stretched given the tailwinds of housebuilding need and growth plans. |
You are right with the profit taking. That's what I did. Just think it went to its peak for the short term and sold at 245. I'll buy back in again at around 215 if it goes there. |
As time goes on, I have come to increasingly believe that on the whole, all things carefully considered, the 'market' is a @!#$ing idiot. |
Yes though doesn't look like the market is very excited about them , price down thruppence now. 1.6p div seems reasonable in the face of a loss. |
Excellent end of year results, well positioned to return to profit this year and a dividend payout. |
