damac checked again because I didn't know how many shares I held previously, found application in corp activity seems I only got 23.3% on one of the applications hmm

damac thanks for that info, I will be able to work out my % position when I get all monies returned, if as you say the line with no value showing is the figure one has not picked up then that does alter things, and last nights calculation of being awarded 70% does seem not real, anyhow I am happy with what I hold presently, i will have to pay market rates for any more

Yes I appear to have received just shy of 60,000 shares from 200,000 applied for. So Barclays seem to be dishing out c.30% for some reason

Guys, check your accounts gain more closely. With Barclays I have only been awarded 11,023 from my application of 3552 on the OO and 25,000 on the excess. These shares have been moved into my existing Hurricane holding and have a market value against them.

I do have a line on my account which on first glance looks like I have been awarded 17,529 from the excess but on closer inspection there is no market value against this and it looks very likely that this is the figure I have not managed to pick up and that I will receive money back from.

So in total I have received 30.6% of my overall application, or 29.8% of my excess application of 25,000 shares.

I applied for 7500 extra shares but only received 23% of those. But bought 5000 yesterday before allocation sorted so have ended up with about the same.

Laser, there is also the prospect that Trump policies might interrupt oil production down in the Middle East (not forgetting the potential for tensions there which might not be entirely desirable on other grounds!). Iran in particular.

bones I reckon if the price of brent increases to $50 we will get a good % rise here, a 10% rise in oil price will give the share price a boost ,well it did in the past when this was about 25p

control 1 I have not got any cash returned to my accounts yet , but on I account got 75% allocated so I am pleased with that one I did the same as you 50k excess over a few accounts

Trump is pro oil drilling in the US, and talks of relaxing restrictions etc. It's all about letting loose the drillers, diggers, builders and constructors. Not necessarily a boon for the oil price?

Seems like TD have sorted my allocation for the excess offer as I have a different, reduced amount today plus, some money back on my account.

Interestingly, I deliberately applied for a modest number on a hunch that the bigger the application, the more it would be scaled back.

It would SEEM to have worked as it looks like I have been allocated just over 75% of the 9,999 that I applied for.

Be interested to hear if that was the case with others once sorted by broker...

Could Hurricane Energy’s Lancaster be one of ‘best’ oil fields on the planet?


So how good is Hurricane Energy Plc’s (LON:HUR) Lancaster oil field? One measure taken from the most recent well suggests it is potentially one of the best on the planet.

When it comes to reviewing the results of this year’s wells on the Lancaster the news flow has been very positive.

Indeed if there’s any grey area remaining it is quite simply comes down to quantifying just how big the field is.

Results from the most recent well show that the wells now in place at Lancaster can comfortably satisfy an early production system (EPS), planned to deliver a maximum of 20,000 bopd.

I'd see today's dip as the inevitable reaction to Trump's election and the expectation for market crisis. The first thing drop happened on every share I've looked at today, and on some to a much greater extent than did happen to HUR.

Not saying HUR won't move lower again, but the fact it was so resilient and finished strongly makes me a lot more contented than I was at one point this last week...

I do see today's dip both as an opportunity to buy but also a sign that this has potential to dip again as we await the big news items moving forwards. Full yer boots for both long term hold and short term trading.
