Porrohmahnn: I tend to agree with you. I will get a proper kicking for once again quoting the latest Hannam report: 'Hurricane’s Q4’20 production averaged 12.7kbbl/d with a 25% water-cut. For the final 4 months of the year, production of 12.5kbbl/d was within the 12-14kbbl/d guidance range. The current production of 12.1kbbl/d and water cut of ~25% remains steady.'

I cannot see any scenario where the (much) higher price of crude will not assist in our plight.

I am sure that someone much cleverer than me will explain why I am wrong and how I know nothing about corporate finance.

I have slightly more confidence at $67 than $37....

Does anyone else think partial equitisation could be a lot less worse now than it would have been before? Surely higher Brent will reduce extent of dilution touch wood?

my notes
The UK Oil and Gas Authority has responded positively to these requests, extending the deadline for commencement of the GWA joint venture’s commitment well on Lincoln to 30 June 2022 and extending the deadline for plugging and abandoning well 205/26b-14 (Lincoln Crestal) to 30 June 2021.

this rig start date 1st July still a candidate ?

D1NGA: I'm not agreeing/disagreeing with any previous posts I'm just pointing out that some crews are now being forced into a 10 weeks on 2 weeks off rota (read the full article in Daily Record) as the previous quarantine exemption has been cancelled.

In my view this is unsustainable and a threat to the overall recovery of the O&G sector although, as you say, not as big a problem in the North Sea (I assume crews are having to quarantine and test negative before travelling offshore in UK sector)

UK Government Petition 'Grant full exemptions from quarantine for seafarers and oil & gas workers' now approaching 18,000 votes

But they have Frank unless returning from those countries on the red list, unfortunately for some but doesn't affect the vast majority of offshore workers in the n sea

Agna - I have not commented on what Trash/Guy were talking about.

My comment was simply that O&G workers have no longer got an exemption for quarantine when returning from their hitch, with 2 articles attached with details.

This is vitally important to the oil industry's recovery.

There is a government petition set up with over 15,000 signatures already.

Frank- are you seriously suggesting Bristows was demanning- and platforms- and 2 on 2 quarantine rotas were introduced? Some are exempt from red list countries- based on pre-flight testing- or pre-embarkation testing on vessels. Why are you making an issue of this? Trash/Guy were talking mince regarding the oil industry. I’m talking about the oil Industry- as I presume that is of interest to this Board.

Agna: some people are exempt from red list countries:

From www.gov.scot

"A small number of exemptions apply to arrivals from all countries, including those on the acute risk list.

Exempt from isolation, arriving from all countries

- border security duties – UK officials and contractors
- Crown servants or government contractors
- defence personnel, visiting forces and government contractors
- diplomatic missions, international organisations,
- representatives of a foreign country
- extradition
- international prisoner escorts

Permitted to leave isolation for essential activities, arriving from all countries

- border security duties - non-UK officials and contractors"

There is intense lobbying going on at the moment to get O&G workers added as long as they follow strict protocols.

From Energy Voice:

"John Swinney has been accused of “ditheringR21; over a coronavirus quarantine exemption for oil and gas staff amid growing anger over a lack of clear answers for workers and their families.

The deputy first minister was unable to say on Friday what further discussions had taken place after Nicola Sturgeon agreed to “consider̶1; easing a requirement for offshore workers to stay in hotels when they return from overseas.

The Scottish Government has been under growing pressure to extend the list of exemptions from its new “managed isolation” policy for arrivals in Scotland to allow returning staff to self-isolate at home instead.

Under the current rules, anyone arriving in Scotland on an international flight must self-isolate in a hotel room for 10 days at a cost of £1,750 a head.

But unions and industry representatives have warned the new policy means oil and gas workers may only be able to spend a handful of days at home at a time, potentially having a “significant impact” on their mental health.

Others have raised concerns about becoming trapped abroad because of the cost of returning home, with one worker setting out how it could cost more than £10,000 over the course of the year to get to and from their job in Oman.

At the Scottish Government’s daily briefing on Friday, Mr Swinney was asked what further conversations had taken place since the first minister’s pledge, and when a clear answer will be available for oil and gas workers.

He said: “I can’t give you a definitive timescale on that. We are obviously conducting those discussions within government and talking to the relevant stakeholders about these points.”
