14/1/2021 10:54 | Today, Shorters will be extremely active to try find a relatively suitable window to close their position and will of course do the usual BS de-ramp to try find that window, however, all pointless IMHO and best for them to is simply to close in early trading because as the day/week progresses, share price here will just go higher and higher. | ![]() back2basics1

14/1/2021 09:41 | thanks, hidden. I have been constantly reviewing...am of the opinion HUR is a binary thing...but I am in for another 4 years...I expect POO to be higher, and just need HUR to stabilise and hopefully push on...but need info on what is touted as `significant value'. Now going back into hibernation, and await next news. | ![]() mhin2
14/1/2021 09:35 | mhin - people don't leave it alone for a variety of reasons, some unpleasant, some selfish, but some more worthy. Don't forget you have a choice whether to remain in any of your investments or to cash out and put the money elsewhere - there's plenty of choice. No-one makes you stay in a share that's unexpectedly failed to work out. No-one knows for sure what the successes will be. I was proud of my recommendation record when I was an oil analyst and I used to publish my performance in my monthly bulletin so clients would know if I was doing well - or badly, which did happen of course. I calculated my success rate at between 60 and 65% over the period of around 3 years. That might not sound too impressive but I was not aware of any analysts (in any sector) with better stats. If you consider that analysts have access to the highest quality information available, you might expect a better success rate but the reality is that that's not how it works. All sorts of things come along to upset the soundest of investment cases and there's nothing that can be done about it. All one can do is to take the hits philosophically and move on to the next share. I learned never to fall in love with any particular share - they do not love you back and owe you nothing. And remember there's always a luck element, although the real skill is to identify when the chances are in your favour. But you will inevitably get it wrong from time to time however good you are. Another key to success is to think of the value of your share as completely disconnected from your purchase price - it is worth what the market says it is worth today. So every time you look at it, you are making a fresh decision of investing and it's useful to ask if you would invest in this company today with what today's information is. This will usually be very different to the information set which was available when you invested originally. There's plenty more I could say but I'll shut up now! | ![]() hiddendepths
14/1/2021 09:24 | Leon, I did say I am holding- for better or worse...just need some information on `...significant value we see in our West of Shetland portfolio....` It has been said by the BOD before but no flesh has been put on the bones of the carcass that was created by the tech review...lets hope things will change. | ![]() mhin2
14/1/2021 09:22 | When you consider by their own admission they are uninvested , it's just simple narcissism. An unattractive trait I would offer . Any credibility they may have once had due to offering a balanced counter argument is now rendered irrelevant due to obvious self interest and I hasten to add rather unseemly underlying motives and sentiment. We all know the kid who pulled the legs off the crane fly... lonely life I suspect. | ![]() tradoil

14/1/2021 09:03 | It's already looking different from last time's RNS. On that day, share price halved within minutes! Today's RNS is much more positive. Let's see what the next few weeks bring us in terms of oil price. | sji

14/1/2021 08:17 | It's certainly true that a rising tide lifts all ships. So improving cashflow for HUR even as the watercut continues to rise inexorably. It's a problem. Why would anyone back further production wells when the expectation would have to be a deteriorating water issue from day 1? There are many better prospects to invest in. Just look at JOG's prospects, for instance, where successful wells should lead to years of cashflow with no such problem. But HUR at least have good cashflow for now. My personal feeling is that the company could and should be run as a cash cow. I suspect that such a prospect is anathema to management though, and they're much more inclined to keep developing the assets despite a high risk. Too rich for me! | ![]() hiddendepths |
