12/1/2021 15:59 | Daltry, sorry to hear that and certainly do hope that the new CEO can now make a substantially positive impact/all the difference here but nevertheless, I guess that since 2005 you would have had a fair few opportunities to sell HUR at ~60p+ or even circa 65p and likely take decent profits, as now it’s a totally different ball game here but who knows, maybe with rising oil price and tight supply/demand fundamentals ahead you’ll get another chance, only time will tell, and good luck! | ![]() thecomposer
12/1/2021 15:17 | I have been in this share since 2005. I need my head examined. At no point in time have I ever, ever, been impressed with Hur's BoD. What do they all do? What do they all do? Trice initially impressed us all, until proven incompetent. The rest are, all 3rd rate, and have no commercial sense whatsoever. The fact that they have NOT, ever, bought any shares in meaningful quantities says it all. They are here for the fat cat gravy train. On a 90% loss of £100K, I am thinking of having myself sectioned. This share is manipulated. Pure and simple. If some entity buys HUR I hope they fire all the BoD ! | ![]() daltry

12/1/2021 13:25 | PS I missed out the bit about poor listening skills also the bit about lack of debating/advocacy skills. the latter is evident in people who get angry with those they identify as the enemy and respond aggressively - or passive aggressively - instead of engaging in reasoned discussion. | ![]() tournesol

12/1/2021 12:12 | I recently watched a psychologist - Dr Todd Grande - on Youtube - discussing the cognitive/psychologi He made a number of insightful comments about people who embrace conspiracy theories. To paraphrase those which struck me most forcefully:- 1) they are bad at evaluating the source and quality of data/evidence and accept as fact all sorts of stuff that is actually fiction; 2) they have very poor analysis skills and are easily persuaded to adopt somebody else's interpretation (of data which is low quality to start with; 3) they cling tenaciously to their views, find it really difficult to take on board new information and have great difficulty re-evaluating in light of changing evidence. I found it interesting to compare/contrast the above with some of the discussions which take place on forums like this - especially item 3. It's painful and difficult and chastening to accept that we have made a mistake in our investment decisions. But it's only through continuous re-assessment and acceptance of error that we can ever hope to succeed. Otherwise we are left in denial angrily protesting that we have been robbed by some form of conspiracy - corrupt analysts, manipulative brokers, unprincipled shorters, dishonest posters, management who collude against their own shareholders, etc etc etc. | ![]() tournesol
12/1/2021 12:02 | Not sure what you “fail to understand”! Car sales are now again on the up globally and more importantly with Brent currently at circa $57, so is the oil price but to keep things simple, also “happy to leave it as one of life's little mysteries.” | ![]() bearnecessities33
12/1/2021 11:42 | As I pointed out, UK sales were well down in 2020, for obvious reasons, despite the boost your friends may have given to the sales figures. Sales in China in 2020 were also down on the previous year, as the link you provided points out, .."China's passenger car sales during the January to December period last year dropped 6.8 percent to 19.3 million units," Fail to understand the thinking behind your original post, but happy to leave it as one of life's little mysteries. | ![]() thegreatgeraldo
12/1/2021 11:15 | I was referring to the people I know but additionally, as one of the largest customers of global energy and vehicles, also aware of the importance of growing Chinese demand, hence, provided the link upon your request (or at least my understanding of your request) to help address your raised query. | ![]() bearnecessities33

Passenger car sales saw a 6.6 percent increase to 2.29 million units in December last year, maintaining about a 7 percent rise for six consecutive months according to CPCA's monthly sales statistics released yesterday." | ![]() thegreatgeraldo

12/1/2021 10:19 | bearnecessities33 12 Jan '21 - 09:35 - 22761 of 22762 0 4 0 many people I know have recently bought new vehicles and stopped using public transportation, car sales are now up ....Your anecdotes or the actual figures..... Here are the figures for 2020 .....UK car registrations fell by around 29.4 per cent in the UK last year, with the 1.63 million cars sold the lowest total since 1992 as the industry was hit hard by the effects of Covid-19 lockdowns. But sales of both electric cars and plug-in hybrids both rose sharply, with plug-in cars now accounting for more than 10 per cent of UK sales. hxxps://www.autocar. | ![]() thegreatgeraldo

12/1/2021 09:35 | With Goldman Sachs on this one, many people I know have recently bought new vehicles and stopped using public transportation, car sales are now up and I see tight supplies ahead with rising demand. Hence personally, topping up here on energy shares, particularly on HUR as I currently see it as way too oversold based on unrealistic fear driven Armageddon scenarios not fundamentals or forward potential, all IMO, DYOR. | ![]() bearnecessities33
12/1/2021 09:25 | a big yessss hidden - I am starting to sell off most of my energy stocks into this GS call, winter high, market high and political uncertainty. but PANR sold all HUR bought at 2,3p yesterday OT was hard to sell JSE - and that tells me a lot - yesterday for the whole afternoon there was bid at 70p, I was offering at 70p but the MM did not close !!! speaks vol imho today I managed to do it | ![]() kaos3
12/1/2021 09:22 | Goldman's forecasts are notorious in that they ALWAYS talk their own book. They go long, very long, and then put out a bullish forecast, which always moves the market to some extent. Then they quietly close their positions on that rise. They do it on the downside too! I used to be good friends with the Goldman oil analyst and he was a little uncomfortable forever being used in that way... I understand they are still doing it now after a couple of decades so it seems that people still fall for it! | ![]() hiddendepths
