30/5/2019 10:32 | took 8 months to get back to the October Highs.. patience one of the hardest traits to acquire for investors when there's so much "noise" in the background to distract hopefully onward and upward to higher highs eventually GLA | kalkaar
30/5/2019 10:29 | Touched 60P :-) | naithani
30/5/2019 10:23 | My life experiences tells me there's always chatter, some of it smoker speculation which is generally pure rubbish, then there's the really big money who are kept well informed. I am no longer in the business and last time I sat in a smoker is at least 28 years ago and I certainly not one of the informed; pure speculation on my part but I think the genie is about to be released, good or bad. point I make is the well informed make money either way. | wolansm

30/5/2019 09:58 | bh.. Solan (although that's "supposed" to be NUI) is the closest platform at around 10-12km. Glen Lyon & Petrojarl Foinavon are 20-25km so AM should just be visible from them as well, depending on visibility.. although the flare should definitely be apparent. We know the flare tip is higher than 45m above normal waterline (since it didn't fit under the Suez bridge), so someone on GL deck (around 20m above sea-level) would have a line of sight visibility of around 45km to the AM flare tip. The highest point on Shetland (Ronas Hill) is at an elevation of c. 450m, and should be able to see the flare tip at over 100km. Also, since the actual flare (when at design rate) would be even higher, they might see a little further, maybe to about 120km... Unfortunately, Shetland is around 150km distant so there's no point anyone rushing up there to see what they can see... | steve73
30/5/2019 09:49 | Lest we forget.... If these wells flow as they should, it probably means that the whole play works. If so, Hurricane may well have eventual recoverable reserves in excess of 10 billion barrels. Lancaster/Halifax could be larger than Brent and Forties combined. The resources of the whole area may well be substantially larger than those of the entire North Sea with all sorts of benefits for the UK economy. It could also trigger early Scottish independence! We're all looking at a ship bobbing about West of Shetlands and getting excited about the impact of success on our finances. But there is a bigger picture! | hiddendepths
30/5/2019 09:21 | SB looking good | telbap
30/5/2019 09:21 | Cmc showing 58.991 v 59.259 | telbap
30/5/2019 09:18 | You would have thought it's the least they can do after all we done for them eh!While they are at it they should send someone down with snorkal and flippers to check the pressure gauges on the well head. | telbap
30/5/2019 09:17 | Steve, agreed, that was my thinking also on the most likely schedule leading up to Monday as the most likely day for a first oil RNS. Roll on first oil! 8-) Chopsy, they could well have the binoculars out on any nearby rigs and the weather is not bad for flare watching! Not sure how close the nearest rig is to the TL though although someone here probably knows! | bountyhunter
30/5/2019 09:15 | Can't the ship watchers get out there in a rib, anchor up with a few beers and tell us if they see a continuous flare for 72 hours? | chopsy
30/5/2019 09:04 | News from the drill? Wink wink from someone. | rayrac
30/5/2019 08:55 | Can we (as I had hoped) top 61.5p before the RNS ? | freezer1976
30/5/2019 08:54 | Thank you. | francis55
30/5/2019 08:52 | US oil cos share prices recovered yesterday after Europe close. Tullow PMO EnQuest also recovering and up 3% this morning. So the spike may not be from any inside knowledge that we have still to hear of. iMOP | hello31 |
