DST didn`t `fail`....It says they failed to do a DST...Big difference. IMO

Have been out all day and came in to read:

"Hurricane is expected to announce that initial data from its Halifax well indicates the presence of a 1km-deep oil column and that, crucially, it appears to be part of “a single large hydrocarbon accumulation” connected to the company’s adjacent Lancaster field."

That'll do for me, fantastic:-))

But the DST apparently failed:-( Will be interesting to read why, packer failure whatever.

RNS Tomorrow 100% I'd say, can't wait, good luck all.

Cinques.....think your post just highlights that HUR holds all the aces.EPS is the crucial and final last piece of the jigsaw that will really propel this. With a controlled press release today (with Bernstein's positive tweets this weekend) and hopefully a mighty positive rns tomorrow then a gap on the open will surely be seen. I stand corrected as alwaysGLA

I knew she'd come good but a damn shame I sold around 80% of my holding when I thought she wouldn't come good!

An impressive company indeed. Quality management as well

There are times when you find a company that you know to be a quality entity, you buy, you hold and if possible you add to your holding

Still much to learn about this investing lark

Peter,

Are you thinking that the whole of the GLA may now be sold but Hurricane remains listed and with a huge pot of money in its coffers for doing Lincoln/Warwick, Typhoon, Whirlwind, etc?

Or will Hurricane as a single entity disappear?

This is effectively a Friday 6pm rns. Locked out cheap buyers. Good on Dr trice and his cigar ;)

Why give the story to the FT well it's just good old fashioned PR.

Every single financial player in the oil industry will be waiting for 7am to read the RNS. That way they get maximum impact.

The only thing better than a press weekend strategy is to halt the stock announce you have something to say in two days and then release it.

You can only use those however if you believe the announcement is transformative value wise.

So my guess is Dr T is feeling very smug this evening.

Hurricane looks like one of the few juniors who are going to move up into the big league.

Sadly I still think it will be taken out for £3 or so?

Open to interpretation. But an oil column of a random size 1 km deep seems pointless to add to the article.

1km deep oil column or a column that is found 1km underground. Slightly different results depending on interpretation

I really think that 1bn recoverable is too low a figure. Time will tell.

Would be nice to raise £100m at £1 a share to sort out the FPSO and then drill out the remaining three areas.

Just been out to buy the FT weekend but nothing in that. Guess that it is only in the FT online. Good luck to all holders for tomorrow morning.

Leave the flowrates aside, that's quite simply a mammoth discovery. To connect Lancaster to Halifax was the oily Eldorado and they have achieved it. I cannot wait to see the CPR.Cash

If it is a 1 km deep oil column then that is huge!

The fact that the FT has the news before the RNS has been issued suggests that DR T has something else to add.
