In particular "and for the UK"
HUR have started using this term a lot these last few months.

OPEC to Cut Crude Production by 1 MMbpd in Januaryby Deon Daugherty|Rigzone Staff|Wednesday, November 30, 2016inShare55 submit to reddit OPEC to Cut Crude Production by 1 MMbpd in JanuaryIn highly anticipated Vienna meeting, OPEC decides to cut crude oil production by 1 million barrels per day beginning Jan. 1.Following months of global oil market angst, the Organization of Oil Producing Countries (OPEC) has agreed to cut its crude production Jan. 1 by more than 1 million barrels per day (MMbpd) to 32.5 MMbpd. The International Energy Agency has estimated that as a group, OPEC currently produces 33.8 million MMbpd. In September, the cartel said member nations would target dropping that volume between 32.5 MMbpd and 33 MMbpd.Designed to boost the oil market's recovery, the production drop will "accelerate the ongoing drawdown of the stock overhang and bring the oil market rebalancing forward," OPEC said in a statement.World oil demand is expected to grow by about 1.2 MMbpd this year and in 2017. OPEC said that underscores that a market rebalancing is underway, but both Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and non-OECD inventories remain well above average. Given the inventory overhang, a lack of investment in 2016 and 2016, as well as massive industry layoffs, OPEC said it's vital that stock levels are brought down.

don't think so on the spread however MSCI's indices are used all over the world, in index funds, ETFs, even by active managers, so when there is a big change in the composition of the indices, it gets attention because a lot of money is going to be moved around. As we saw yesterday hur attractive but I suppose its all in relation to all the oil stocks in the index , if oil stocks move then those co's in the index should move at similar %

Appologies if already posted - From Malcy'd Blog:

Hurricane Energy

There are fewer more interesting sights in the oil industry than watching the good Doctor Trice on the move when he spots an opportunity. After an incredibly busy few weeks in which Lancaster has gone from being a mere discovery to what might be a West of Shetlands hub, with wells on Lincoln underway and Halifax as of yesterday confirmed with the Transocean Spitsbergen next, what more might come out? Of course, how silly of me not to think that with all this going on and an imminent FID on Lancaster and first oil due in 2019, HUR would need an FPSO. Cue this mornings announcement, whereby the company announced that they had hired the BES Aoka Mizu FPSO for the Lancaster EPS and up to ten years more if signed by this time next year. That of course means that first oil in 2019 is more likely, assuming that Lancaster gets the go-ahead next year, would we ever doubt it. Oh yes and in the middle of all that they raised £75m just to be going on with…Mind you, with all this drilling, head office will be quiet over Christmas…

CFC - Neutral/positive imo there was a seller and a buyer, the share price was manipulated down yesterday to accommodate the seller offloading to buyers who were happy to take that volume sub 40p. I suspect it was Huddlestone (a long term seller not a panicked holder) getting out, it closed up on the day when all's said and done and his shares are now in the hands of individuals who paid circa 39.5p for them (a 5% discount on Fridays price) and they now need to turn a profit on them. If I was a betting man i'd say we move on from here north assuming of course that there's no shocks such as a duster at Lincoln or a poo crash (unlikely after the outcome at opec). Until we see an RNS confirming his disposal it's all conjecture of course.

Yes, the uncrossing volume is down to the MSCI index changes. Nothing to get too excited about. All the other MSCI index changes had similar volumes, although AGK was massive.

Ps ppl think huddle stone is selling but today's rise and big auction trade could easily be a big buyer in the stock today....

It's like an end of day jumble sale... stock goes into auction 430 for typically 5mins and highest bids matched off with lowest offers and repeated until there's a final crossing trade... it is a trade but the amalgamation of trades of various bids and offers. Think of it this way, big vol day and share price up.
