Gentlemen, sorry, but I just don't get it I'm afraid. DB and his team build a fabulous mine on time and on budget, manage it for over six years, they have now built another spectacular mine and all the time worked long and hard for an absolute pittance! What an absolutely fabulous achievement! Please give yourselves a well deserved pat on the back and gold stars all round! Very well done! All that time I was an idiot for suggesting that they were under performing, how wrong could I be?

Frank Campbells fabulous, (and the 52p and 50p prophecies of Cannacord and Mirabaud) unerringly accurate report of six years ago said it all quote:- "voices of real reason and knowledge". And he goes on to say, quote:- "Rest assured that as Hum continue to reach milestone targets and hit gold production figures, THIS WONDERFUL INVESTMENT WILL GROW AND GROW! What a visionary! All the other members of the "lunatic convention" should be well and truly ashamed of themselves! Well done Hum team!!!!

if we are not careful these bunch will steal the mines just when they are on the cusp of producing...

A bank holiday weekend coming up so we really need to see an RNS tomorrow/Thursday to bring us up to date going into Easter here..

Our back up miner will be working full tilt, but they can only move so much with just the 1 fleet on site..

From a Questor, Daily Telegraph article today

The New York Stock Exchange’s Arca Gold Bugs index is trading no higher now than it did in November 2003, when the gold price was $390 an ounce.

Gold mining executives are clearly paying attention to this disconnect, judging by the rash of deals, even if stock markets are not, and we are therefore happy to keep faith in both Egypt-focused Centamin (CEY) and Resolute Mining.

Shanta Gold’s 2023 results are due on Thursday (March 28) and the shareholder vote on the deal takes place the week after, on Thursday, April 4.

Questor says: Gold miners could be primed to shine."

I wonder how many days ore they have available. As long as they can keep production going, even at the lower grades, then, assuming they are negotiating and can find a resolution reasonably quickly, the disruption should be minor.
While I would not expect even daily reports from HUM as to how resolution is being progressed, I would have expected something by now along the lines of "Betts and the management team has flown to Kouroussa; negotiations are planned to start on xx/xx/xx; our bankers are being kept fully informed; etc."

To my eye, the only fact which matters is that of all the parties involved in this issue, HUM is the only one which can't afford the delay and whose continued existence is on the line.

Very soon, it will not matter to us as shareholders whether the fault lies with HUM or elsewhere

There's a term we used to say to describe best litigation practice and that was "clean gloves"

If you're gloves aren't clean when going into a fight then you risk looking like a cheater, with your claims seeming to be egregious, untrustworthy and vexatious.

Not at all Corica's finest hour, I'd go as far to describe them as derisory at best but then I might also be biased.

Also LLB.. One just doesn't decide to cease providing services because of a payment dispute. To service the relationship in the best possible way you'd serve notice of a withdrawal of services first, you wouldn't just walk off site at midnight on a Sunday.

These are all questions for Dan, should he brave enough to do an Investor Q&A but I wouldn't blame him for not doing so just yet.

I think they might of LLB... Given the affect it had on the market and how strongly they've defended it. They would have been much better off denying it's authenticity and seeking a suspension of the shares until resolved.

50% is a big chuck, if someone has been telling porkies then there's also investor claims lurking in the background once blame has been proportioned.

Good luck suing Corica as an investor though when it was a contracted trucker who kicked it all off

I bet the Directors wish they could buy some shares if this all turns out to be a storm in a teacup. But as they know the situation, they can't due to insider info. Hope we get back to a bit of normality soon. All these silly goings on is quite pathetic and highly annoying.

#PH, it does look at odds with the Corica position as the biggest/best in the business, perhaps they have sub-contracted the job out IF they have over reached themselves that would explain a few things, equally possible that the machines are all there, but Corica have failed to train up enough drivers to man them all 24/7, we know this cause has been cited a few times now in updates..

Some clarification needed, have HUM stumbled into responding to an article that was not direct from Corica..?

My money is on HUM and Corica both getting scammed and slammed by Corica's appointed coordinator in Guinea and it's a question of liability rather than fault.

Repeat in your best west African accent...

"If you send me your sortcode and account number, I will personally make sure that you get your goods"

Given the company have responded to the article confirming the problem exists although it should not have been handled through a linked in page or PR company to do so, it is unprofessional for starters..

Litigation takes time and costs everyone monies, we need a sensible resolution and fast, then everyone gets paid, taking the legal high ground to prove a point does not always address the immediacy of the problem but it could force matters at the risk of losing our primary mining contractor..

DB, once you get into reading a contact to determine legal liability with a strategic partner you are in trouble. The only sensible approach is to continue working together to try and deliver the best possible outcome for both parties. That includes making payments to keep the lights on.

Plat, you appear to have done some great research, but if this is "fake news" why haven't both parties said so already.

LLB, that contract suggests that HUM are in the right legally. However, it can't wait around to win a court case.

I was expecting a compromise statement this morning. How long do they need to thrash one out?
