21/2/2024 22:09 | Negative Chinese sentiment will unfortunately have the share price drifting down to 525 levels in second quarter. Shame really. Good dividends but the capital erosion is still hard to stomach. | xongkudu
21/2/2024 16:30 | Yes a calm investor head needed on silly sausage days. The share price was about this sort of levels just last month. | supermarky
21/2/2024 15:54 | Well I just nibbled at another 500 at 587. Not a game changer either way but that will earn me £250 in dividend this year and every year and maybe £500 when price gets back towards £7 | tygarreg

21/2/2024 14:46 | 1000% agree and as I said earlier Hutchmeister | peart
21/2/2024 14:21 | Record profits of $30 billion compared to $17 year ago. Buybacks of $9 billion over the last year alongside an almost doubling of dividends payouts. As I type the share price is £5.90 yet a year ago the share price was higher at £6.09. Whilst Q4 was impacted by an impairment is this an over reaction to the results today? | hutchmeister

21/2/2024 12:55 | It's the massive impairment charge on Bank of Communications Co Ltd, (BOCOM) and the huge payrise for Noel Quinn that has done the damage here. Was half expecting the Sunday Times newspaper to leak these results last Sunday !! | ukneonboy
21/2/2024 12:26 | This is just noise around the paper loss on China investment in Bocom. Net interest margin is back into normal territory after years of been in the doldrums. Look at the dividend history on HSBC's website. It changed in 2008, and we've been at zero interest rates for about 15 years until the last year or so. Now they have normalised (zero is not normal), dividends are returning and the share price will follow. Buying opportunity for those with spare cash looking for a home. jmho | peart
21/2/2024 12:11 | It's certainly a tale of TWO banks !!! Contrasting HSBC with Barclays....... not many saw that coming | factsandfigures
21/2/2024 12:02 | The markets test and tempt you undulating the price to bait our FOMO! | tygarreg
21/2/2024 12:00 | Difficult to know where to jump in to top up! Certainly I want the circa 50p total divi this year so I have until early March to make a decision one way or another. Is 5.95 the best price I can get? I doubt it but then again...... | tygarreg

21/2/2024 10:06 | HSBC is facing very challenging environment this year not the coming year. Definitely profit in 2024 will not beat the record profit of $30b of 2023 or come near to it. as such shares price is likely to fall further imo | stevensupertrader
21/2/2024 09:59 | Likely to fall later on when US market opens . This is a good Income dividend seekers counter if one doesn’t care about share price will fall in the coming weeks due to very challenging environment HSBC is facing in China in the coming year - slowing economy and lower GDP growth plus confidence loss due to property slump and middle class Chinese are tightening their belt ( hard time ahead ) | stevensupertrader
21/2/2024 09:54 | Massive inflation beating divi increase of 90.6% for 2023 to US 61¢ (2022 32¢). As purely a long term income investor, this was very good news for me though their divi record has been patchy over the years. | anhar
21/2/2024 09:42 | Looks to be settling around 6 | evg
