30/4/2024 07:15 | Yeah good figures, a special divi and a strong price reaction first thing too. Shame the boss is on his way out but hey life goes on and can we send him off in the 700's?? Good luck all 👍🏻 | tuftymatt
30/4/2024 06:46 | Your still getting a two dividends 10c and 21c around June time, hardly a disaster . | igoe104
30/4/2024 06:40 | Disappointed with the divi amount but countered by the $3 billion buyback. Results beat the analyst forecasts so expecting a positive response from the market. GLA | hutchmeister
30/4/2024 06:02 | Shame about Quinn. Suet | suetballs
30/4/2024 05:48 | Well, a decent buyback but my dividend estimate was wrong! | peart
30/4/2024 05:20 | Highlights: We have announced today that Group Chief Executive Noel Quinn has informed the Board of his intention to retire from the bank after nearly five years in the role We’ve announced a first interim dividend of $0.10 and, following the sale of our business in Canada, a special dividend of $0.21 per share With a share buyback of up to $3bn, we’ve announced a total return to shareholders of up to $8.8bn Profit before tax included $3.7bn of notable items – this figure included a $4.8bn gain on the sale of our Canada business and a $1.1bn impairment relating to the planned sale of our Argentina business It also reflected the non-recurrence of notable items from 1Q23 (see Context behind the numbers) Operating expenses of $8.2bn were $0.6bn higher than in 1Q23, primarily due to continued investment in technology, the impacts of inflation and a change in the phasing of our performance-related pay accrual Annualised return on average tangible equity (RoTE) was 26.1%, or 16.4% excluding notable items – consistent with our mid-teens target for 2024 | garycook
29/4/2024 16:40 | I think it will be higher than most expect. Hopefully a few smiles tomorrow morning. | peart
29/4/2024 16:35 | 11c minimum up to 14c maximum in my opinion. We'll see very soon. | peart
29/4/2024 11:04 | Q1 divi 9c, 10c, 11c or more? My view is 11c (10% increase) which on top of the 21c for Canada will be very well received. Would also be interested to see if any further buybacks, have a feeling there won't be..... 4am UKT and we will find out. GLA | hutchmeister

22/4/2024 09:37 | Yes Spud and that's why I am not topping up right now. Have a feeling the market will jump on anything slightly negative so maybe open up a better top up price. Could be wrong and am very happy holding and being proved wrong too. Good luck all 👍🏻 | tuftymatt
22/4/2024 09:20 | Ignore that. I forgot it was already Xd :-) | orchestralis
22/4/2024 09:19 | Why didn't you invest it after the divi drop? | orchestralis

22/4/2024 08:37 | Lloyds, HSBC, Barclays and NatWest set to report lower earnings this year as interest rate drop looms spud | spud
22/4/2024 07:53 | I am a little concerned with bank earnings coming out this week. Not for the long term but just think anything slightly negative reported will get jumped on from a share price perspective. A happy holder but will wait before topping up as maybe sub 640 comes back around. Good luck all 👍🏻 | tuftymatt |
