I think you are spot on, also the entire thing with the UK China future relations could accelerate funds selling this, we could see £3

so much for my medium term window on holding this one lol

This is not looking good.
Dropping far too quickly from 408 high on Monday.
Support has been at 370 for last month or so, but think may go lower this time...

Lot of terrible news from HK ......

Millie, since you were asking ...

I dumped this one for a small loss to get into Foxtons ...

I am waiting for Foxtons to start a big move up with stamp duty axe for the first 500K being announced today ... the share is weird and manipulated but it can suddenly move very very fast ... the company has no debt whatsoever

"HSBC fell as much as 3.1% in Hong Kong, the most in more than three weeks, making it the biggest drag on the benchmark Hang Seng Index. "

....further falls today??

Added another tranche back (of yesterday's sales) at the close. As I say, I'm nothing is not inconsistent...

Can't see this ending up today.
Started Monday at 383 & went up to 408 at one point. 25p rise.
Is now at 396, so has already given back half of that
Dow futures showing 250 point drop, so more pressure after 2:20pm

Sticking with my short term 370/380 target to buy back....

Good luck all.....M

Agreed top....med/long am sure it will be a good investment. Plus if they reinstate the divi also....
But from a trading standpoint it has been dropping to the 370/373 area then rising to +£4....ie; topped out @ 428 in early June only to fall to that lower range later

You 'in' anything else?

I'm in medium term with this one, or at least to 500p

Once it is understood that banks can give divis out again it will soar imo

Perhaps top.....but if you are long you carry a lot of that risk imo

Plus to end up 'blue' today it will have to rise 10p from the 398 as i type. Don't see that, especially after the 22p gain from yesterday.......profit taking day today with the usual retrace

Not getting back in until at least sub 380 myself
90% cash now; just long position on BT....

Number of countries back into lockdown after opening up. Usual delay has been 4 weeks.
If that happens then i see downward pressure due to the uncertainty...+ there's HK & China issues

Watch n wait for me....good luck to others

Yes, I wouldn't disagree, which I was here; it is just that it takes up funds while waiting for an oil tanker to move. Quite a few things passed me by on account of not having spare funds.

Anyway, having taken the small money and run yesterday, am now back in lightly, somewhat against my better judgement. Smaller stakes though and will stay that way.

(If you want consistency and logic, don't look at me...)

Well, fwiw, I have just taken most of mine off. It's not a good share in the current climate, and remains unloved. As a bank, it is risky anyway, never mind China issues.

To be honest, I misjudged it, and am happy to look elsewhere - there are plenty of options.

Now watch it go to 600...

This time, hopefully, i'll judge it better.....

FTSE up well, I guess. Nothing HSBC or China / Hong Kong wise.

Maybe it's just cheap...

Thanks re the non stamp duty shares - I know (and don't want to be in) WPP and IAG. Not keen on GVC, but interested in FERG. Will look more closely.
