Tax evasion is illegal .. tax avoidance ... well .. most with any sense do so ..... the question is whether any avoidance scheme represents a weakness in the tax system and needs to be closed up.

4spiel - I suggest you grow up. Labour helps the 'poor' so it gets my vote.

Fact is - anyone who can help themselves (including labour/Tory politicians) should do so .... people are greedy c'est lie vie.

I vote labour because there are a bunch of people out there who can't help themselves ... and the way I look at it - its a form of social insurance.

This will blow over .. bought back in at 595 ... keeping an eye on 500 which seems possible or anywhere in between and above.

Losing their Banking Charter in the USA!, but it's not going to happen.

I do hope that at the end of all this, HSBC will emerge as the cleanest fittest world bank, and we can hold their shares long term with confidence.

HSBC is (under) valued at £115bn. What sort of fines could they suffer that would make any noticeable dent in that.

Can HMRC fine HSBC Switzerland? Do they have jurisdiction over a company incorporated overseas doing business outside the UK?

Vantis plc was an accountancy firm based in London, England, providing accounting, tax and business advice to owner-managed businesses, listed companies, not for profit organisations, high-net-worth individuals and other professionals. It was placed in administration on 29 June 2010 and promptly broken up, with the various offices and businesses being sold as going concerns.[1]

would be great if HMRC dismantle HSBA

Clear support levels near here. If 580 odd doesn't hold there will be a steep drop imo. That's why I'll have my stop set. I am obviously not alone with this assessment .

China going down the tubes with increasing corporate defaults. No need to buy this here. Assuming you can have any trust or faith in them whatsoever
