The supply side for battery-grade nickel products is even more complicated by the fact that there are very few high-grade nickel sulfide deposits under exploration and development given the depressed price environment between 2010 and 2015. According to S&P Global Platts, capital expenditures on nickel projects reported by one of the world’s top nickel producers (NorNickel) fell from $7 billion in 2012 to $2 billion in 2017. “Current forecasts should mean mining companies will be searching hard for feasible projects this year despite low prices and potentially not very promising net present value calculations,” said Platts analysts.

Hard to say what's a buy or a sell with the trading?
Counting the days for the FS now, hopefully we see some price development with Numis on board and some fresh interest in financing and licensing.
One would hope there is a BOD plan in place to move things forward from the FS announcement, they must have more than one eye on their 6months option timeline.

salmonn1 - I believe every vehicle produced by Volvo will be electric from next year also so things are certainly moving forward. Not much time left if you are considering investing in copper, cobalt etc.

There have been quite a few posts on HZM's twitter account about the forecast increase in Ni demand due to the uptake of EVs over the next decade. One of the things to look out for will be the Geneva Motor Show next March. VW will be showing it's first purpose designed EV, branded as the ID. In reality it's a Golf EV promised to be sold at the present diesel Golf price point with a range >200 miles (with the usual expensive upgrades to circa 380 miles range). There is a lot riding on this car, it will set the industry standard for a mid priced desirable EV, and how it is received by the press and public will either boost EV take-up generically or set it back. The Golf is the car people buy with their own money and if even VW can't persuade people to adopt EVs then penetration is likely to be relatively modest in the coming years, if on the other hand everyone raves about it then it will be proof that there is a market for a "reasonably priced", practical everyday desirable EV. My hunch is they will get it right, but we'll have a good idea by this time next year.

Each time we get to 4.4 I think we will continue to rise up to 5p and beyond but so far its back down we go each time. Frustrating doesnt really cover it anymore.
