Hey, it's chilly in Sydney guys, only 23deg today, not bad for mid winter!
Enjoy your holidays and let's look forward to some action in Q4. It must be time for clarity from all the unexplained trading some time soon.

Have a good holiday Wooster hopefully it will be a bit cooler when you get back and we'll have something tangible to discuss from HZM.

salmonn - well we need a few conspiracy theories to maintain some interest. I'm off to the maldives in 10 days and would like to come back to a nice surprise.

Balanced views expressed here salmonn will largely be ignored. Its a form of social media and thou shalt behave in a histrionic or a conspiracy theory fashion! I completely agree and have some cash coming to top up when or if it hits the 3s again

I held Mariana and admittedly the company was sold out on the cheap with the incumbent management being “looked after”.Mariana was sold because arguably it had to be sold. The Turkish Government weren’t over enamoured with the idea of Hot Maden being exploited by a bunch of AIM market geezers who had failed perennially in Argentina and somehow struck it lucky in their Turkish backyard.

I don’t see any real similarity between Horizonte and Mariana.Mariana had a rubbish shareholders list
(which included us,Wooster)private clients who weren’t able to leverage a better exit price.HZM has a rather influential list of shareholders as JM stresses.

ofcourse, it could simply be that HZM is performing the same way as the majority of other AIM minnows in the last couple of months.

jailbird - because the bidder will ensure that HZM management are quids in and it will therefore be recommended. Maybe i am slightly impartial given my experience at marl - mgt there recommended (what i thought was a low ball bid) - they did well out of their options but they did a lot better out of 12 month consultancy arrangements with the bidder (much more so that had they accepted a higher bid).

Yes indeed.70% of the equity is identifiable and in "tight"(one supposes) hands. Why should these institutions accept a low ball bid. They've been in this stock for eons, what will they say,oh look someone's offering 6p,fair cop we'll accept.

What makes you think that a low bid will be accepted ?This is all trivial speculation

steeplejack - on the contrary, i firmly believe it is one of our major holders selling, in order to make a low ball bid.

By now the BoD will know a large seller is dipping the market at 4p levels.Would not be surprised if a big buyer will be lined up to take some of this stock at some point . It just depends how much the buyer is willing to buy.

There are nil shares declared as being shorted at present.
Thinly traded stocks like HZM are rarely shorted. It is too dangerous.
I do not believe anyone is 'manipulating' the share price at present. It is hard to achieve and really not worth it on small, illiquid stocks like this.

As someone who is a bit green on these dealings (price suppression). Is it likely to affect the potential buy out price significantly? Or will ultimately the potential of the company prevail in any future takeover. Appreciate it's all if's and buts at the moment- but have many experienced this before and did you get a lower price in the end than you wanted?

Well it certainly seems to be someone with an almost endless supply of stock that`s for sure!

I agree in principle that it is likely short selling and its been my best guess for some time, but only time will tell.

As long as the price is right who cares!

Management MUST know what is going on, no TR1 so far but selling seems relentless, why are management so lethargic about the situation one wonders.

It is not unusual for large holders to loan stock to entities for a fee, this stock can then be used to short/suppress the share price for whatever reason. It happens often.

One interesting aspect, bulletin boards and social media do not appear to have bashing trolls that are usually associated with small fry short positions and/or market maker/broker shenanigans. This would suggest the selling is coming from a corporate player.

In my considerable experience I would suggest the share price is being suppressed to benefit a bid approach, the last thing any entity would want is a runaway share price.

Are management in on it one wonders, lucrative salaries/employment contracts, stock options within the Newco may be on offer. Note the lack of PR and low level of RNS releases.

It has happened before!

And now 2*500k buys announced very late (@ 18:35). I had assumed that most of the buying was by PIs - could institutions be getting in on the action?

Yep it’s certainly frustrating isn’t it!
However they will clear at some point and hopefully soon, there is now a lot of interest in HZM and people are probably holding back investing because of the seller, however when this breaks 5p I would say it’s a clear indication they have gone and should see a quick rerate like ARS did.

The seller has had enough of the waiting. Goalposts being moved all the time. I hold 2.5m shares which I can't shift in a hurry but am seriously getting peeved here. Why is this not 8p already? Its simply ridiculous.
