Here is a weekly chart that illustrates the great potential of VAL

Note that TSI has firmed and crossed the Zero line with a flourish !

to benefit fully from the bowl you need to be in before the right hand side of the bowl gets going.. that's the hard part.

if you look at most of the bowls above the big gain comes after the second bounce off the bowl rim after the base has formed...

Does this work for mining companies I wonder, given the great unknown of drilling results? Here's the lovely bottom of North River Resources:

I reckon if you see what looks like a good bowl forming it's worth backing.

RMV was a classic - every analyst was bearish 2 years ago, loads were shorting it. The chart won tho.

Here's another one that played out at the same time:

When you look around at the charts a nice curve round like these is quite rare and tend to come good in style.

CR,

Could you use your good offices to get Advfn to add the microscope facility to the toplists - especially sector search

Under Monitor, select Microscope and then select 3 years.

Interesting. I dont hold enough bowls. Got plenty that are halfway through form a bowl - hopefully. ie at their bottom.

Robbo/BG, you need to set up your own thread to post all this research on to get away from the p+d merchants on the Penny Punt thread.

Apologies for O/T.

apols for O/T but it's all about gold and oil for me (5 and a bonus 2)

CNR, SRB, TPJ, ORE, MWA, FOGL, GBP

one doesn't like to boast but post 8 on the CR Penny Punt thread is an interesting read ... mainly because it shows how buy and hold can work as opposed to the hyperactive salami slicing trading chimp method

Just whilst perusing charts I came upon this one which might constitute a bowl.

I like to see some fundamental underpinning to why the bowl may complete and this one looks quite easy to rationalise.

TPJ is a £20m company being bid for by a $20 BILLION dollar partner one of the biggest Gold miners in the world Newmont Mining. After having it's last bid turned down Newmont is not allowed to return with another offer until late May/early June 2011. Newmont owns about 26% of TPJ shares.

Finally it is worth highlighting that Newmont held their Investor/Analyst day last week and in their Presentation they featured their JV with TPJ but did not mention their JV with SOLG. SOLG is valued at 3-4 times TPJ but Newmont don't seem to be as interested in SOLG as they are with TPJ.

CR - Glad you've started this thread. My own version under the epic CWH (Cup-with-Handle) never developed much of a following. Here I've found 4 worth following up in the first 62 posts - a pretty good return; especially with time over the weekend...
