25/11/2021 15:44:34 | Taking a pragmatic view - this peaked around £15 during their 2019FY when earnings were on a par with forecast earnings this FY. So had it got ahead of itself?. Next FY eps is forecast to grow by about 8% or so, let’s be generous with Biden’s infra bill starting to feed through (although Jeffries reckon that won’t impact income streams until FY23), but let’s call it +12%. That’s still only circa £17. Perhaps the market was expecting a beat to justify a PE in the low / mid twenties?. Also a bit baffled though, haven’t bought in yet. | disc0dave45

House Democrats clear path toward passing $3.5 trillion budget bill and infrastructure plan after breaking stalemate
The House voted to approve a $3.5 trillion budget resolution, advance a bipartisan infrastructure bill and move forward with sweeping voting rights legislation.
After centrists threatened to derail Democrats’ economic agenda by pushing for swift approval of the Senate-passed infrastructure plan, party leaders pledged to vote on it by Sept. 27. | philanderer
12/8/2021 11:36:30 | Peel Hunt predicts rerating at Hill & Smith
Hill & Smith (HILS) is in ‘excellent shape’ and the specialist barrier manufacturer is due for a rerating, says Peel Hunt.
Analyst Henry Carver reiterated his ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of £19.50 on the stock, which surged 9%, or 150p, to £18.12 yesterday after reporting a 72% jump in pre-tax profits in the first six months of the year.
‘We think the business is looking in excellent shape as we emerge from the pandemic,’ he said.
‘Its end markets are strengthening, and we see an encouraging outlook for both organic growth and acquisitions even before the US infrastructure bill in the US starts to filter through to forecasts.’
He said the prospects for ‘long-term, reliable growth’ coupled with ‘consistent deliver’ means Hill & Smith will rerate and ‘start being compared to some of the other successful compounders in the sector’. | philanderer
