Never heard of wealth oracle and the comment about valuation at 13x being unhelpful is utter rubbish. HILS historically trades on 15x because of the defensive nature of the earnings so to the unbiased market commentator this is still cheap.

Hill & Smith Plc issued a positive trading update for the 4-month period to 31 October 2022 this morning. Trading has been robust, the full year outlook is expected to be ahead of expectations. Underlying FY22 operating profit is now expected to be above £89.7m, the top of current analyst expectations, suggesting growth of close to 60%. Revenue from continuing operations is 18% ahead of the prior year. And management expect to make further progress in FY23. The balance sheet is solid and the Group has just agreed a new syndicated revolving credit facility of £250m. Valuation looks a little unhelpful with forward PE ratio at 13.0x, but there is scope for positive EPS surprises following today’s release. The share price also lacks positive momentum for now. HILS is a solid and growing business, but the share is one to monitor for now...

Very good . And the sellers now come in .

"...Based on the good trading performance to date and a foreign exchange tailwind, we now expect full year operating profit from continuing operations to be ahead of the top end of current analyst consensus^. The Group expects to see a material improvement in cash generation during H2 2022."

I’ve joined here at 907. I like the defensive nature of the earnings and according to my notes 40% of revenue is USD based which should guarantee an overall outperformance for the full year. High quality operation IMO.

Workers at a North East company are to strike for thirteen days in a pay row.

The Unite union says there are further talks planned later today and it is not too late for management at Birtley Group and Bowater Doors to make a "realistic" pay offer, while a spokesperson for the management team told us today "negotiations are ongoing with Unite", but the strike looks set to hit supplies for customers such as Redrow, Bovis, Persimmon, Crest Nicholson and Countryside Properties.

The 124 members of Unite, the UK’s leading union, are spread across the two companies which share the same premises and are both part of the same parent company Hill & Smith Holdings PLC.
