08/6/2016 19:44 | Some interesting info on Helium extraction from Natural Gas here Determining the feasibility of extracting helium from a particular source of natural gas is extremely complicated and is influenced by a combination of technological, logistical, and economic factors. For example, too small a reserve base may disfavor the installation of expensive helium extraction and/or purification facilities. It is my understanding that the Hugoton Gas Field is much much bigger. It's the fifth largest producer of natural gas in the US with 11,000+ wells. Further more concentrations of Helium are between 0.3%-1.9% where 0.3% is generally thought to the the economic cut off point It seems to me that Montana license acquired is very very early stage and some of the conclusions that people have posted about its value today are nuts. I guess that is probably why the seller was happy to part with this supposed multi-tens-of-millio Nothing like a good story though to keep people interested or maybe even distracted eh? 08/6/2016 18:39 | Good point Zengas - if the early indications are that the DT Ultravert trials are successful then income from this procedure will either be sufficient to go it alone on the helium and uranium or at least give HNR the option of a favourable financial package with minimal (if any) dilution, without needing a JV. I think however that a JV will be the route to go down to secure the experience and expertise in those areas. The company is in a good position with the acreage they have already acquired to date, especially at the low prices paid for the acquisitions, so if the DTU trials prove to be a success then going forward the company will be in a fantastic position, given the mkt cap now. Of course I am aware that these prospects need to be proved up, but still a good risk/reward currently - even if HNR end up with 'only' the natural gas. | bobbyshilling
08/6/2016 18:27 | Although the share price gapped up this morning and closed below the closing price of yesterday, British Bulls are happy to stay long. I assume the descending triangle seen intraday today which is in an uptrend market above the MA20 is different compared to looking at daily trends. So although I have no experience in charting, I am not convinced the market will drop to the MA20 which is around 55p. It could do but the price actions today seem confusing but I suppose we just have to wait until tomorrow. I see looking at LSE many are confused by the share price movement and limiting of buy orders in parts of the day and will accept huge sells in dummy trades. Below is from British Bulls but would be happy for any explanation of others feelings of the short term future in share price Signal Update Our system’s recommendation today is to STAY LONG. The previous BUY signal was issued on 06/06/2016, 2 days ago, when the stock price was 58.8250. Since then HNR.L has risen by +13.90%. Market Outlook You may relax since our STAY LONG position is secure. The market action does not cast a serious doubt on the wisdom of going long. more... | g1g4lo

08/6/2016 11:53 | agreed Zengas, thanks. | herschel k
08/6/2016 11:52 | Yep we need to wait for the report on the potential. If the helium concentration is a similar 0.36% as Hugoton, we need to know if there are any direct concentrated sweet spots or will we recover helium at a standard rate of 3.6 boe for every 1,000 boe of gas. At $100-$200 per mcf, a barrel of helium equivalent is worth $600-$1200 compared to $12-$18 for gas. No mention of any oil potential, but possible and Hugoton produces oil also. 0.5 bcf (80,000 boe) of helium might be worth north of $25m in the ground value if proven not to mention the overall gas (to support the helium concentration) might be worth a further $50-$75m (?) assuming a field size of around 25 mmboe total gas reserves. The area acquired is some 92 sq miles so certainly large enough in terms of exploration. When we get further on the CPR, expected drill depths/costs and any partnership deal will the real potential be known imo and if possible can we self finance this from any future technology revenue which would be a big bonus. | zengas
08/6/2016 11:25 | gimme, we potentially have a good helium find/field. POTENTIALLY. Until RPS complete their assessment and report, we simply don't know. It looks good, but let's be realistic please - it's another avenue of potential significant value for the company, but nothing is proven yet. H | herschel k

08/6/2016 10:17 | Should the helium licences prove to be commercial then a JV partner in the future would seem a formality at the kind of prices and probable shortage of the gas in the U.S. Another good move by the look of it, especially at the price paid for the turf. | bobbyshilling
08/6/2016 09:31 | Today 08:46 Price: 71.75 Cenkos comment Highlands Natural Resources (HNR.L, 67.75p, £23m) says it has acquired 59k acres of exploration licences prospective for helium and natural gas in Montana’s Custer, Carter and Fallon Counties, for a cash consideration of $91k. The licences cover the play previously mentioned in the coy’s April RNS, with numerous gas shows encountered across the region and elevated helium concentrations (0.36%) similar to the Hugoton field (the largest natural accumulation in the US). HNR has commissioned a CPR from RPS to quantify the market (with refining capacity at the Federal Helium Reserve in Texas currently requiring c2.3bcf p.a., representing c30% of global supply, and US resources potentially exhausted by 2020). It has also added helium and hydrogen expert Ben Reinoehl to the advisory board. Positive – HNR continues to add potentially transformational early-stage projects to its portfolio at extremely low cost. | gimmetheloot
08/6/2016 09:03 | No doubt they are not only close to the fracking news but they are still in advanced negotiations to farm out , JV the Uranium project. They will also do the same here with the Helium play (joint venture) and then bring on the belter RNS re the frack test result all within 2 weeks ;-£)))) | gimmetheloot
08/6/2016 08:58 | As previously announced, numerous shows of gas have been encountered across this target region. Historic gas analysis reveals that the gas contains elevated concentrations of helium (0.36 per cent) similar to the US Hugoton helium field, which is the largest natural accumulation of helium in the United States. Consequently, the Company believes that a significant volume of gas, containing helium, could exist in this region which, if correct, would represent a significant helium resource in America!! "Significant" | gimmetheloot
