14/7/2020 16:04 | Nor me. That's markets for you...they don't often behave rationally. Makes predicting moves rather tricky. Take current levels of all stock markets, way too high for current states of economies.o e day a crash will come and we won't see it till it's too late. Should really be in cash right now but couldn't resist trading between 220 and 240. At small loss right now on recent trade. | blowitall
14/7/2020 14:43 | Bought back my trading lot today just below 214p. Really can't understand why it has fallen from the peak of 243p in the last week or so. GLA | gary1966
14/7/2020 11:45 | Sales of Russian gold have been surging lately, increasing by more than 14 times over the year. In April-May last year, Russia exported $247 million-worth of the yellow metal, and in the first quarter of 2020, the figure reached $1.4 billion. The sharp increase occurred, among other things, due to the CBR’s decision to abandon gold purchases with the price of the precious metal rising to a near-decade high, Khudalov said. He was echoed by the vice president of Otkritie Bank, Alexey Zaytsev, who also pointed to the CBR’s complete refusal to buy gold as well as the beginning of the active gold mining season. According to customs data, gold exports to the UK accounted for 93 percent of all Russian gold exports. | loganair
14/7/2020 10:15 | Just for June, the U.S. Government spending deficit has come in at $864 billion. Taking into account inflation, is the highest ever monthly U.S. government spending deficit including the deficits they were running during the war. | loganair
13/7/2020 05:49 | Newcrest Mining produced 76.4 tonnes of gold in 2018, up from the 71.1 tonnes it produced the previous year. According to Newcrest, it has one of the largest group gold ore reserves of any company in the world. Strangely the share price has performed very similar to HGM over one year. | investor73
10/7/2020 16:59 | Gold prices head for a 5th straight weekly gain. | investor73

09/7/2020 16:54 | Yes, agree on all 3 comments- fingers crossed here. Gold went from ~1815 to ~1796, now settled back to ~1803. FTSE, Dow etc all got a quick blast too, and I noticed my crypto too, all at the similar time. On gold, we tend to get a surge, then a scale back before the next step forward... like some comments here, and on other boards and in the press, the vast majority pointing toward continued surge, and all my indicators back this up too. HGM should move up on these results, showing targets met, and projects on track. | stevedaytrader
09/7/2020 16:49 | "this environment is setting gold up to test its $1,920.30 all-time high reached in 2011." It could set a new all time high this time. | investor73
09/7/2020 16:25 | The traditional safe haven asset, gold, topped $1,800 this week – the highest level in more than nine years. Analysts say the yellow metal’s rally is just getting started. “I guess gold is the real bitcoin,” Boris Schlossberg, managing director of FX strategy at BK Asset Management, told CNBC. “Ultimately I think what’s happening is the market is taking implicit bets that inflation is starting to pick itself back up, and I think there’s a really good reason why the market thinks so.” The stimulus from global central banks that has fueled a fiscal expansion is going to make its way into the economy and drive inflation higher, Schlossberg said. “Central banks are still going to have to keep rates very, very low, because their first and foremost priority right now in a post-Covid world is to maintain momentum, to maintain expansion as much as possible,” he said. “So, they’ll suppress interest rates, inflation will go a little bit higher, and of course gold loves nothing more than real interest rates going lower and lower and lower.” He added that this environment is setting gold up to test its $1,920.30 all-time high reached in 2011. | loganair
09/7/2020 16:15 | When your expectation of a stock and reality don't match up, either you're mistaken or you're on to a winner... I think HGM is a winner. | casual47
09/7/2020 15:53 | Hard share to read tee days- up to 243.5 on results OST likely and down to 229 all in a few hours... well done anyone who saw the strange drop all the way back today. | stevedaytrader
09/7/2020 11:33 | Yes, the increased tonnage throughput at e.g. Novo could add ~50k oz on a linear basis. Need to see how much of that will be realised in 2021. It's not clear how far ahead they are on e.g exploration drilling and stripping. May take until H2 2021 before any of this shows in the results. | casual47
09/7/2020 11:19 | " Mnogovershinnoye (MNV) and Valunisty increased waste stripping by 101% and 35%, respectively, in H1 2020 in preparation to access higher-grade open pit reserves in the second half of the year." "Equipment is on-site and buildings are currently being erected for the processing plant expansions at Novoshirokinskoye (Novo) and Belaya Gora, with both projects on track for completion this year." | investor73
09/7/2020 11:00 | The most likely assumption is that guidance will remain the same, I.e. 300k oz. It's probably too soon for anyone, never mind brokers, to start forming an opinion about guidance this side of Xmas. | casual47
09/7/2020 10:51 | Broker notes can help with next yrs guidance, hopefully some pencils are being sharpened right now and I think there is lots to be bullish about for next yr Better that production is so weighted to H2 this year with gold now over $1800 | return_of_the_apeman
09/7/2020 10:19 | Yes but the high grades in H2 may go back to average grade by q1 next year. You cannot make linear deductions from two quarters for the next year. Geology is not that simple. | casual47 |
