02/9/2022 10:31 | hl is not the only company share price falling in this environment although perhaps not as bad Heres hoping for a substantial market improvement for one and all enjoy the rest of day and weekend chuckle and cheers | waldron
01/9/2022 15:03 | That was my original thesis for being a big HL shorter at 20-22 quid , that Vanguard would just come in cheaper and they looked so overvalued at that level. As usual I closed that far too early for not much profit then decided it got so cheap at 8 quid it's a steal forgetting my original thesis.ROCE is around 50-60% which is Nick trains argument. A decent divi and tbh the customers are still loyal (for now). Interest rate rises help a lot on top of the recent results. There are far worse shares to be buying at these levels but yes only to around £12-14 I feel. | privileged
01/9/2022 14:48 | Was reading that Vanguards new U.K. platform has robbed a huge amount of UK investors from all the legacy platforms, .75 flat fee for the whole service. Vanguard so big could decimate the UK platforms without missing a beat. The U.K. market seems to be pricing for Armageddon, I’m thinking a lot of this is foreign investors getting out of sterling denominated assets, not much point making a reasonable investment to have it destroyed by a Mickey Mouse currency depreciation. UK needs an emergency budget. I think HL is for short term trading now, maybe the thesis as it being a “ go to “ platform has vaporised. Come back Tony Blair, ( sterling back then 2.04 to the USD ) | porsche1945
01/9/2022 14:12 | This is a decent divi share also at these levels! 22nd Sept as well | privileged
01/9/2022 10:33 | Seems someone's been paying attention Comments in ft do not inspire me with any confidence Think could hit 550 level f this market carries on staying well clear until then Just buying dividendn shares for now and hope to hell this time round they are honoured but agree with porsche economy in a mess due in no small part to the overall ineptness of Boris and his clueless cabinet Expect dividend payers to be put to the sword to avoid the necessary evil of taxes Clueless the lot of them the rich can afford to pay a bit more Help the ones at bottom of food chain | jubberjim
01/9/2022 10:28 | Agree good price. ATM still watching from sideline. | action
01/9/2022 10:07 | Happy to pick more up in the low £7's... | lomax99
01/9/2022 08:41 | I'm surprised they've not already been subject to a US bid. It would probably succeed at a decent premium to the current £8 a share. The 2 founders (H & L) now own well under 50% combined (I think it's more like 30% to 35% at best). | ochs
31/8/2022 22:12 | Do you envisage a situation where HL becomes a bid target?GBP FX is terrible, they have super loyal clients and still higher AUM than pre covid yet 1/3 of share price and sterling 25% cheaper. | privileged
31/8/2022 19:19 | Wow i made the jump at the right time. Some heavy shorting on this, guessing they figure value of AUM is going to be wrecked as U.K. asset prices get decimated over the next 12 months, wheels seem to be falling off pretty fast with U.K., shocking whats happened to sterling, fxcking brexit started it tho the economy has been shxt since 08, tories a disaster, i think this it, real mega hardcore problems to arrive, just as wheezing boris bunter fxcks off. Inflation in U.K. slated to be 3x higher than france, yes the U.K. is energy poor and france has massive nuclear but thats still crazy. Will come back in on this sub 7.60. | porsche1945

31/8/2022 10:33 | So it will be low of the year. I thought should be 900p +. But market thinks otherwise | action
31/8/2022 10:31 | @ACTION based on the charts I'm looking at the next support isn't really until the June lows of 759/760p, but you might also find there's a bounce around £8. I've noticed the HL share price reacts more to movements in the DOW than movements in the FTSE - so whilst the DOW is still falling I fear HL could have further to fall. | ochs
31/8/2022 10:27 | I mean next support level pls | action
31/8/2022 10:13 | It's up to you! | lomax99
31/8/2022 09:42 | Any views now. I am still watching from sidelines | action
31/8/2022 08:29 | @ancillary you should look at the poor profit levels of their competitors to answer your question. For example ii provide a great service but their profit level is very poor for the value of assets under management. Be interesting to see if their new owners (abrdn) can find a way of extracting more value out of ii. | ochs
31/8/2022 08:25 | Hi @ACTION generally a support (or resistance) is classed as broken if a stock closes the day above or below that level. So as an example yesterday although HL dropped below 846p first thing, it then staged a recovery and was trading well above that level until around 3pm, so up until then the support had held. However it then dropped significantly and finished the day under 846p, so support is broken. | ochs
30/8/2022 20:56 | Why should it stop at 840p? look at the values of their main competitors. | ancillary
30/8/2022 20:09 | Understand | action
30/8/2022 20:09 | If i nderstand correctlly you need couple of days to establish if support is broken. | action
30/8/2022 16:40 | Support blown, so we could be back on the way to sub-£8 again... | ochs
30/8/2022 09:38 | 846p support has held for now. I've bought at 849p. Previously offloaded some around £9. | ochs
