Looking at the charts the final support before 800p or lower comes in around 846p. I'm hoping for a bounce if it hits £9 again, but will mostly depend on US markets (as ever!)

Trip down to 800p again? Any views?

@Medieval Blacksmith, I wouldn't say £269m profit in what was meant to be bad year for HL is 'failing'.

Yes, they need to improve their website as it often falls over when there is more traffic than an average day, but HL as an investment is still very attractive due to interest rates rising, no debt, healthy profits and a 4% yield.

The fact that the website has tripped up a few times in recent weeks suggests that traffic is increasing again, and for an HL investor that means more trades going through than last month, which can only be positive for the bottom line.

If you want to contact the actual CEO (rather than a long retired Peter Hargreaves) it's chris.hill@hl.co.uk

That is HL for you. If price drop you will be dealt with higher price quoted. But if price goes up your order will be rejected.

Steve Morgan tried to do the same. Redrow started to fail and he had to come back and fix it. He succeeded. Would Hargreaves? I doubt it. Competitors are too much for him.

I rest my case. He has taken his eye off the ball. Buffett hasn't done that and yet is a far bigger philanthropist than Hargreaves will ever be!

As Buffett says: stick to your knitting.

This is what Peter Hargreaves does now - he's been retired from HL for about 10 years!

The website clearly can't cope with all the investors suddenly wanting to get in on this week's bullish action @jubberjim! Not good when it doesn't work, but good for HL's bottom line.

These should be ok now, my target 16-16.80 by this time next year for a 100 pc return, this winter likely to be brutal for U.K. with the mess it’s now in but these should survive ok, just avoid anything with debt and a declining business model, so about 95pc of the Jurassic park ftse 100.
