Shame you couldn't find some funds to average down under £8 @Growth Potential - it's looking like that was a bargain now. AJB 3rd Q results yesterday have helped sentiment.

Definitely should have held, lord knows what my avg buy in price is but it's probably at least 1500 so happy to patiently wait and enjoy my exposure

HL finding support at 8.50 geared play on rising markets, still looks good value, with low fixed costs one office in Bristol, high ROC, high positive cashflow & market leader. Should progress strongly from here. Jubberjjim should have held instead of buying insurers.

I am speculating at this low level most investors are happy to hold & short sellers have to buy back 3% which would not be easy in quiet summer months. So shares more likely to rise from here.

Yes, if I'd been short over the last year/6 months (wish I had been!) I'd be closing by now and be very happy with my profits. You'd think the easy money's been made on HL on the downside by now?

Hard to trace accurate info but there is a 3% short on HL, considering founders & Lindsell Train & other longterm invrestors hold 45%, free float say 50% this is dangerous for them, good for us.

Yes, hopefully results and outlook statement on 5 Aug will be the key. We've bounced from support at 759/760 on no less than 4 separate days.

There are a few short positions around on these, once they have been seen off HL will start ascending.

I did after costs average 863
Only 10 grand ventured but I am finding this market very difficult to fathom

Long of divi shares is av. Lgen phnx and few others mainly as plays
Sold my MNG today bought phnx bought Barclays against Abdn sell on blip up yesterday but sold on move up to 153

Everything is not right in the world

Very few investors looking to get involved

Any sign of a sell and the markets brick it

I am long of lgen and Aviva

I put in sell request price immediately drops
No depth at moment

Will now await figures from Hargreaves

My mantra unless absolutely sure in your conviction "if long you re wrong"

The market drops forget it

There will come a time to buy and hold but with all the turmoil going on not at mome not

Did you buy near the support at 760p @jubberjim?

It's hard to know if you've made the right decision to sell... there's been so many false dawns with this stock in recent months - every time I think it's going up, it drops down again and often makes new lows.

Then again overall trading may be better than many are expecting and prospects for better returns on cash going forward could be bullish when they report on 5 Aug.

As you say that 828p resistance will be important - we need to close above there to see some real progress.

Just sold out was hoping to see if 828 resistance would be tested but would have sold there anyway

Finding markets very patchy and to be honest not attaching any great credibility to the prices shown on screen on HL website
Happy with a six % return after costs

Good luck holders like Arnie says I will be back other fish to fry meantime

Another up day on a difficult day, with broker downgrade as well!. ROC 40%, can't think of any other company with such high returns, so cash reinvested will add to bottom line. Upside is great here. Downside limited.

Nice rise for HL today - it's bounced from 759/60p a few times now - not sure why that should be a support level - at least I can't see anything on the charts, but it seems to work! Be good if we can hold over £8 tonight.

There's been no trading update since the end of June, so that is a good sign as it means they will have met expectations for the full year ended 30 June. Looking forward to results on 5 August and hopefully more news on better returns on cash going forward.

Pretty much what one would expect at the moment, all asset managers suffering. Need the cycle to change, will take till end of year for the fed to stop tightening. Interesting to see commodities especially copper weakening, market pricing in major slowdown even with China heavy buying. All the brokers were plugging commodities and they have been hammered, even gold.

Support FOMO seems to be to me 760 level

Unfortunately I remain unconvinced so will not try and call a bottom

Chartists ? Undoubtfully will have a law of probability view ? But I still see very limited trading as moment exaggerated movements on very illiquid dealings

Investors like me are extremely nervous
Will try and stay off unless I have something positive to say but is very difficult as I see no positivity in the market at moment only fear
There will be bargains out there but very few and far between

Be lucky all and as always be careful

Another good day - just what the Dr ordered! (first time I remember 2 up days in a row for ages!)
828p looks to be the near term resistance, if we can finish the day above there then things will look more positive on the charts. Fingers crossed for a strong open on Wall Street at 2:30.
