05/1/2006 09:27 | With the EIS benefits to be had there won't be any selling volume till 8p or thereabouts | damloy
24/12/2005 14:41 | retail sales 53% up, mm increased price ... howver no volume... | ren3gade
06/10/2005 14:27 | Watching the price like a hawk...love the EIS benefits...believe in the company ...and 10p would definitely tempt me | damloy
06/10/2005 09:42 | Interesting few days. Up to 7.5 - 8 and not very many sellers. Considering half of this compay is owned at 6p this says some interesting things. Either the holders can´t be bothered to watch the price, they are more concerned about the EIS benefits attached to the purchase or they actually believe in the company. I wonder what bid price would tempt them? | chartman2
03/10/2005 22:57 | Top of the leader board for the day... and hardly a comment! | goldcooper
03/10/2005 13:09 | I've not enough years left to get a return on my mid 20's investment when it was on OFEX! | jethr0
03/10/2005 11:35 | IMHO the brand is worth a lot lot more than 6m, however, they have yet to show a profit and its a long termer, maybe end 2006 when the price will be justfied over 10p. Considering there was an issue of a lot of shares at 6p there may be some sellers lining up. Still a great one to stick away for a couple of years. | chartman2
03/10/2005 10:41 | Just read the Mail "ramp" - reckons it was undervalued at £4.5m. Now £6m. Sales............... £500k (6 months)! | double6
03/10/2005 10:32 | Seems rather top heavy now - getting the people who read the Mail report on board, before returning to the 4.5p level (IMHO) | double6
03/10/2005 09:54 | Happy days...now in profit and with potential tax benefits providing held for two years... Where to next?.... If the Asian franchising takes off sky's the limit!!!! | damloy
03/10/2005 09:02 | Yeah looks very good. Tim is continuing to do a good job, haven´t seen the article but saw the announcement on RNS couple of day ago. | nat007

29/6/2005 13:32 | just found this bit of info . . . . im getting the hang of this now!! feeling very encouraged, any thoughts!!! rsvp Hardy Amies improves an ADVFN competitor Upmarket fashion brand Hardy Amies is to refurbish its flagship store on Savile Row as part of a makeover. AIM-quoted Hardy Amies has reported a 13% reduction in operating losses to £496,000 in the year to the end of December. The haute couture company favoured by the Queen, said its operating loss excluding the costs of listing on AIM narrowed to £496,000 in the year to December 31st from £572,000 a year earlier. Cost cuts outweighed a fall in turnover to £896,445 from £1.05. CEO, Tim Martin, said: "We are very pleased with the progress we have made during the year, and are now in a position where the investment in retail and new licensing agreements will secure the future growth of Hardy Amies." With a strategy to limit costs and focus on top line growth, Martin said that management accounts for the half year to the end June 2005 show total retail sales up 32%. He said: "This is encouraging as licensing sales follow successful retail sales and the rebuilding of the brand. This is the first significant increase in across-the-board retail sales at Hardy Amies since 1997 and I anticipate that our retail sales growth will continue to be strong. "To support the retail sales early in the second half of this year we will be refurbishing both the menswear and womenswear boutiques within 14 Savile Row and introducing a new menswear bespoke service." BMB one of the largest owners of concession space in UK department stores, has become the brand's new menswear licensee, and plans the to retail and wholesale Hardy Amies ready-to-wear menswear from next summer. In addition, a new Hardy Amies fragrance for women will be available in fragrance and cosmetics retailer Space NK's stores from September. | novice3
29/6/2005 08:08 | Announcement today "Since 2004, our strategy has been to peg our administrative expenses at an acceptable level and focus on top line growth, by which the health of our Brand can be measured. I am therefore delighted to report that Management Accounts for the half year to end June 2005 indicate total retail sales up 32%. This is encouraging as licensing sales follow successful retail sales and the rebuilding of the brand. This is the first significant increase in across-the-board retail sales at Hardy Amies since 1997 and I anticipate that our retail sales growth will continue to be strong. To support the retail sales early in the second half of this year we will be refurbishing both the menswear and womenswear boutiques within 14 Savile Row and introducing a new menswear bespoke service. Additionally, we will be advertising in Vogue, Harpers and Tatler on the women's side and in GQ and Esquire on the men's side next season. We will also be producing an Autumn/Winter version of our comprehensive customer Look Book, which proved so successful for Spring/ Summer this year. This will be posted to shareholders in early September. I am also delighted to be able to announce that we have a new menswear licensing partner in BMB, who recently purchased the Hardy Amies license from Stuncroft Brands Ltd. BMB are one of the largest owners of concession space within leading department stores in the UK. They plan to retail and wholesale Hardy Amies ready-to-wear menswear, including both formal and casual and sportswear, from July/August next year. BMB have also agreed to use their specialist UK factory to assist us in the manufacture of our hand-made Bespoke suits and our new range of ready-to-wear menswear which will also be available from 14 Savile Row from September this year. Finally, I am delighted to announce that a new Hardy Amies fragrance for women will be available from both 14 Savile Row and selected Space NK stores from September this year. Space NK currently has 38 stores and is the UK's leading specialist retailer of fine fragrance, skin care and colour cosmetics." Nice..... | nat007

31/5/2005 11:38 | Whoa... this was announced by BMB...... cvracking news for HRD!!!!! "BMB plans expansion at market towns By Ben King 27/05/2005 Tailoring group BMB is planning to open more than 30 stores across the UK, following its acquisition of Hardy Amies-owner Stuncroft. (THIS IS INCORRECT HOWEVER!! - They license to BMB(ex-Stuncroft) but are not "owned" by them) Leeds-based BMB is targeting prosperous market towns to launch the stores. The company has seven outlets in the UK, including five Haggar shops and a branch of Alexandre Savile Row in London. "It's my ambition to take that up to about 40 in the next 18 months," said BMB chairman and chief executive Peter Lucas. "We want to have a retail balance to our business. We are looking for the Guildfords, the Baths, the Cambridges. We're not going for the Bluewaters." The group is steering away from major city centres to avoid competing with the department stores already housing BMB products. "We are looking at the fascia that we want to use," said Lucas. "There are a number of different brands, and we have to work out which to launch in which location." A marketing agency has been appointed to help BMB select the best fascias to use. "[The former Stuncroft brand] Gibson is a name that would lend itself to a good half a dozen stores. I'd also like to open a branch of Alexandre in the City," said Lucas. The stores are likely to offer a range of BMB brands, as well as other selected brands. This follows the pattern of the group's Aston and Gunn store in Bermuda, which stocks Hugo Boss, Firetrap and Armani. With a turnover of £150 million, BMB is already the largest suits business in the UK, with brands including British Tailor, Centaur, Chatsworth, Karl Jackson and Jeff Banks London. They are mainly distributed through wholesalers and department stores, including Debenhams and Selfridges. The Stuncroft deal adds The Label, Daniel Dresscott, Scott International Charley O'Brian and Harmers to the group's portfolio, as well as Gibson and Hardy Amies, the made-to-measure menswear brand created by the late dressmaker to the Queen. Formerly the menswear business, BMB was formed by a management buyout in 2000, led by Lucas. It has recently relaunched Baracuta, the iconic menswear brand once worn by Steve McQueen and Elvis Presley." HRD is a real play IMHO. | nat007

06/5/2005 11:01 | Looks like Daitobo are opushing the HRD marketing. Check: www.daitobo.co.jp and click the Hardy Amies link. All in Japanese but looks good. | nat007
04/5/2005 09:53 | Thanks for that, while doing a bit of digging I found out that apparently things went well in Japan and at some point they will be letting shareholders know. Someone also mentioned Harrods to me, don´t know wether that would be for the suits or other stuff, but apparently there is a British promotion being planned. Would be logical for HRD to be there. Regards N | nat007
29/4/2005 10:16 | Nat 007, I would guess a share overhang has been cleared.Classic signs are large trades at or below the bid price yet the price moves up.This share could surprise everyone-great potential and the key players are highly rated.I picked up a few after they fell post placing.DYOR | addict |
