Just be pleased with the results than questioning how it got here, many other businesses are suffering and closing down, at least this one has done something and kept its business open and staff are still with the group, I see a bright many more months of trading upto summer 2021.

Yep agree, great sales by luck and real lack of any ability to grasp the opportunity, im holding on till 2.85 to £3 and then selling out, my average buy price is around £1.20 so im on a massive gain - only wish I had the nerve to buy more in the spring/summer, 2021/22 will be very interesting i think cycle sales could potentially dive hugely- although electric scooters may boom- though these have a huge level of returns and are ultra low margin, just look at the amount of electric scooter returns john pye were selling last year- and they must have come from a big retailer such as halfords

"Business rates relief and furlough income totalled GBP24.5m, but these
benefits were partially offset by increased costs of operating under Covid-19 which, to date, amount to GBP11.4m in our retail business."

So they are doing very well operationally AND are a HUGE beneficiary of Government payments which it looks like they are keeping.

But the rumour sell the news. I've heard they could have made something of the lockdown, but the stores suffered due to silly ask and seek service at the doors and bikes selling out early with no replacements in stock for ages. Not invested here just think I'd take the money and run while the goings good.

Decent rise today suggests earnings will beat forecasts tomorrow as prev guided. Could get another big move up if update v positive. Had a good run so sold down half my holding today and a limit sell at higher level tomorrow. At over 3 quid recovery story nearly played out me thinks.

Indonews

I will be back but hoping on a pull back with the news.

What's your numbers here for the full year.

As for TANDEM a major supplier to HFD you say at a ludicrous level?

EPS last year was 3p and 36p to give 39p
current year is 22p and TBC

Assuming second half has been flat we arrive at EPS 60P.

Market cap is 26m and cash at half time was over 6 m giving a 20m valuation.

Sure you can work that out but 10x earnings should be a market cap of 36m less the cash of 6 to arrive at 30m.

That's £9.00 a share.

Furthermore their D2C business is growing fast and plans are in place to speed this area up and strip out rent on external warehousing etc of up to 1m a year that will fall straight through.

So I think TND is a much simpler and smaller business than this one that has expensive sites that need to keep busy.
I do not think Halfords looks expensive but I do expect a small pull back with the results.
Of course that's just my opinion.
Please share your numbers for me here.
cheers

Wow.....!Just had a message from an associate now.He tells me that HFD are about to begin making redundancies within thier management structures.I have asked for more detail but his PA's brother in the south east was apparently told by a gloomy member of staff today that she had been told her role was being made redundant and also some manger roles were too????????Always best to email HFD CENTRAL HQ to dispel any rumours imo.Maybe her brother got the wrong end of the stick....?Maybe it is just a disgruntled staff member...The money this company has just made through LOCKDOWN shouldn'tequate to redundancies as far as I'm aware. They did indeed trade, made profits and used the Goverment Furlough Scheme to its full advantage. If they are and it's true.I suggest the goverment make themPay back every penny they took from theGoverment in lieu of furlough payment at thebehest of the tax payers...?Let's see if this is a rumour or a fact first. If it is true... there goes a money grabbing dishonest company in my opinion?? I'm sure it can't be true because only an insane, heartless, crass and uneducated fool would destroy morale of his staff just as Christmas looms? However the world is getting stranger by the day...

Peloton, which makes internet-enabled exercise bicycles, has also tumbled 16%. A successful vaccine rollout would allow people to return to their local gym, rather than taking part on online exercise classes.
