06/12/2021 19:58 | Norges Bank are back on the buying path with HFD.They are the worlds biggest and most successful investment fund on the globe. | kendonagasaki
06/12/2021 17:38 | PB shares received nice and quickly into my X-O account. Always very quick compared to other brokers! | n0rbie
06/12/2021 15:34 | Norges Bank increases holding. RBC inc tgt 485p (465) Outperform. | wynmck
03/12/2021 09:45 | Actually as an existing shareholder I’m more bothered about the sudden big drop off 430p+, as that only seemed reasonably up with events, even though a big gain from the bottom. Sell down before a placing - not unusual is it ? If anyone was buying in the high 300’s they can’t be too happy. 25% drop off the top - normal movement ? Anyway what thoughts on the acquisition and move more towards auto ? I make it that autocentre revenue now double what it was. It was about 16% of revenue. | yump
03/12/2021 09:36 | Every BB has the same debate when a primarybid offer concludes, this is groundhog day. Primarybid should be applauded because its the only realistic consistent speedy mechanism for private investors to be included in placings. Fact. People who don’t like primarybid fall into one of the following camps; don’t have a smartphone (i mean its 2021!!), are a technophobe, missed the alert because they were out/it went into a spam folder or have not set up the alert in their account correctly. Or are a FOMO who doesn’t have an account and likes complaining. Not getting your cash back on a timely basis well thats down to worldpay and your bank, in my experience it can be as quick as 2 days. I doubt anybody on advfn can genuinely have a material opportunity cost of not having their cash back for 2-5 days. Yes its the principle of it and its a little opaque but aren’t most bank transfers, come on people! | rimau1
03/12/2021 08:04 | At the outset that wasn't necessarily the intention!!! | b1nky
03/12/2021 07:38 | Spot on bountyhunter, not a difficult concept to grasp is it | stevesham
03/12/2021 07:36 | That's not the point at all, we are talking about taking people's money for five days for nothing. It should have been made clear at the outset that only existing holders qualified. | bountyhunter
03/12/2021 07:23 | Very good point yump. I think people are whinging for the sake of it. The company opened the offer to everyone. They gave themselves the option that if there was low take up from existing shareholders, they could then sell to new PIs. But there was full take up. So they gave existing shareholders preference. Nothing at all wrong with that. If the allocated new and old investors on the same basis, people would be complaining about that. | b1nky
02/12/2021 23:09 | Primary Bid is a bit rubbish. But I don't get it. If the prospects are good enough to warrant being annoyed about not getting shares, then just buy now. If the takeover is so good that everyone wants in, then 340 or 320p is neither here nor there, but there hasn't been much discussion of the actual pros and cons of the takeover. Surely this isn't a case of people wanting shares at 320p so they can dump them for 10% ? | yump
02/12/2021 22:36 | If held in a nominee account then looks like no chance of getting any. Forward pe is about 6 right? Much too low for a strong company with growth for years to come. Pe of at least 15 would be fair. | amt
02/12/2021 19:58 | rimau, I don't need the tip thanks as I already guessed that but personally it's not something I would do. Primary Bid could still have said in the initial announcement that the offer was restricted to existing shareholders, they didn't need to change their system if they had just said that. | bountyhunter
02/12/2021 19:13 | rimau1 Points noted thank you, I do question why funds were needed quickly, surely deals like this take months in the making, but that aside, your tip is noted and a good one, doesn't pay to be honest does it It is what it is, still doesn't sit right the way it was done, but we all move on with our own thoughts Not a fan pf Primary Bid anyway, they really need a desktop option and if they can move quickly to take money, wonder why it takes 5 days to give it back...... who cares really | stevesham
02/12/2021 19:05 | Steve/bounty The simple answer to your grumblings is that HFD needed to raise funds quickly and the only efficient way to allow retail participation was via primary bid. There is no functionality in primary bid to only offer to existing holders and the fact that the placing was small and institutional demand was high meant that very little was available for retail. Allowing retail participation at all shows they actually care, they didn’t need to, most companies simply run a closed book placing to institutional investors as i’m sure you know. Tip for next time - when you apply on primary bid simply answer “yes” to being an existing holder and enter a fictitious number of shares. No due diligence is carried out to cross check. | rimau1
02/12/2021 16:37 | that's exactly what has happened to me, agree 100% | bountyhunter
02/12/2021 16:36 | The whole thing was flawed, it would have been far more professional to actually say only open to existing shareholders as I too am outstanding cash for 5 days that could have been used elsewhere and also missed out on the profit opportunity today I have complained in no uncertain terms to Mr Lynch and Investor relations, it won't make one bit of difference but it made me feel better But I am wiser to how Halfords treat and view things | stevesham
02/12/2021 16:31 | I agree entirely, they have all my cash for 5 days for nothing and wasting my time. Fair enough they could have allocated existing holders more but to give 100% to existing holders and zero to others doesn't seem right to me. | bountyhunter
02/12/2021 16:00 | I think the way non shareholders have been treated is shocking, has anyone else sent emails to Investor Relations and Andrew Lynch whose email is on the investors section of their website Disgraceful approach in my view. | stevesham
02/12/2021 15:00 | I'm pretty sure if the market reacted badly to this and the shareprice tanked I would have got a full allocation of shares, PB customers shafted either way, so much for opening the market up wider to PIs | steveyc1
02/12/2021 12:57 | give it a few days and the government will have invented a new variant of Covid and you will be able to buy below the offer price in the main market. | adeg
02/12/2021 12:32 | Are you signed up for RNS alerts? It was announced at close last night and was only open for a few hours (as is normal for a placing, so that it is finished before the next trading day). | n0rbie
02/12/2021 11:58 | Schofi2 same for me. Though my finger has been off the pulse recently. | capn m |
