I have bought in at 245p, having found the opportunity by looking for threads on which Castleford Tiger had posted... Thank you, CT!

Looks like 7.4x consensus adjusted EPS for FY2022 and 3.7% consensus div yield for same year. Sounds good to me for a well managed company in a big market.

from june 8th

RBC started Halfords at ‘outperform217; with a 450p price target.

"Halfords is a leader in the UK motoring and cycling retail and services markets, and also has exposure to the more fragmented but growing autocentres market," it said. "We see opportunity for market share gains from its growing Autoservices business and expect that its more integrated strategy should help to sustain some of the topline gains it has seen over the course of the pandemic."

Good morning. A strange request but can anyone send me a published broker note that was issued after they announced their full year results in Jun 2021?
I assume Peel Hunt or Liberum published something?

Much appreciated. Contact me on PM if you can help.

Nowhere near it, in my opinion. I would take a guess at nearer £2.Really like the look of Halfords now, but waiting on the side lines

SP running like a leaky colostomy bag here!I sold out here a few months back.IMO GS is pretty much a stay at home, I mean work from home CEO.He is priabably so detached from the real word as a crack addict is on blow? The Director grease monkey from the Auto side of the business is in charge of the retail side too now.IMO this is why the reatail sector of this business has been wearying and weakening.GS needs to put his Norhern hands in his pockets and stump up for a real professional to take the helm of the retail business and leave the grease monkey to Grease? The real Dilema here IMO is that GS needs to go!He has no dynamism or energy no real appeal to the city or major investors.I bet deep down he is a Justin Tredueu waiting to surface as the pressure starts to surface? All in my humble opinion of course.Heil Graham!

added today on gap fill. Solid prospects, leaning into reopening and with strong cashflow. As long as mkt doesnt tank into recession i would be surorised if we dont see pe come for these this year. But even if not, the company has further room to grow and diesnt command a high pe at less than 9 times fwd.

This now looks way oversold to me. Recent fundraise at £3.20, and been falling ever since. Not helped by current market nervousness. But with the acquisition of National, definitely one for the future, in my opinion.

...from last year...

Halfords Group plc issued interims for FY22 this morning. The company reported strong H1 performance and indicated a confident outlook. H2 has started positively with sales momentum continuing across the business. Management upgraded their full year profit before tax forecast to £80m - £90m. Valuation is very attractive with forward PE ratio at 8.9, top-quartile for the Speciality Retailers sector, and PS ratio at 0.43 roughly top third for the sector. Share price was in a correction from early July, but looks to be breaking out to the upside today. HFD is a solid company, with decent growth prospects, improving balance sheet and attractive valuation. BUY....

as well as this its a good reopening play. motoring/outdoors gear. cheap as chips and pe always sniffing around. if uk shares manage to hold and build on gains this year, there is little chance that halfords doesnt get a pe bid.

Nice to see ABRDN, increasing stake here. Easing on supply issues plus the fact that going forward, Halfords numbers will be more linked to motoring rather than cycling bodes well for them in my opinion.

Some news around that supply chain problems are easing a bit.

There's certainly got to be a limit to how many new bikes they can still sell, purely because we've had 2 years of people getting bikes for the first time, or discovering their old bike was unusable.

Now there's the reality of weather that can be cold and the generally unpleasant experience of cycling amongst psycho drivers, while avoiding potholes, in places that are not designed for bikes.

70 percent of future group revenue will come from Motoring.Bikes was a no brainier ref everyone bought one last Xmas after pent up frustration demand.Good to see this business maturing into the motoring avenue.Still a major bike seller but not reliant on them now they only account for 30 percent of the mix.Good growth slow and steady good for 4 pound plus by year end.IMO there is a danger this business may get taken out by private equity before they are to grow to full potential.
