I might be the only person ever to lose money on HGM.Bought some at 70p, panicked when the Russians were threatening counter sanctions, sold at about 50p.Doh!

Could do with some relief from the relentless grinding down at ALY! My worst investment of the last couple of years.

Yes buy and hold if the right stock is always good practice,

Thank you all, getting it solved.

Back to gvc now.

Mylands

If I can recall correctly, gvc went below a pound which I bought, and it moved to
around 140p, then dropped to 79p approx in early 2007, which I then started
buying more. It is like a history lesson. I have bought more along the way as
we all have.

For fun I looked back on this thread to when I made my first posting which was on 7th December 2005 when I said 'what great news, bought these last week'. This followed a trading update. I had bought at 360p. You on the other hand had your first post on 30th Oct 2006 when you said 'Just bought in for the first time at 94pish'.

Interesting to note that the div for 2006 was 42p! What a return, never to be repeated.

Don't underestimate how much memory is taken up by your texts, especially if you have people sending you those little moving pictures or videos.
I cleared mine out last week, the texts were using up 20% of my memory!

With all his money, you'd think he could afford a tech consultant, wouldn't you?

SrpIf you can take the battery out then you have either taken a hammer to your iPhone or you don't have one!Messages are just text - unless you have big video files they shouldn't take much space. In settings/general there is an option storage and iCloud.Select that and go to manage storage - it will show you biggest apps and data. Delete any app you don't use much - you can always reload it later. Also check photos - if you have live pics or videos they can take a lot of space. Also to stop apple reloading your data automatically switch on airplane mode - just in case.Hope that helps.

I delete all messages, then turn the phone back on and they have returned.

If I take the battery out and then put back in, will I loose all data?
