The market does that quite often with companies doing poorly,
it is like relief that it was not disaster and at least the news
is out.

I mentioned the other week my portfolio is gvc, hgm, paf, gfs
and a few others. Gfs looking alot better if anyone is interested.

Amazed that WMH are actually up this morning after the announcement of their results which, at best could be called mediocre and, at worst, dismal. They don't even have a CEO, with the results given by an Interim Chief Exec. The market never ceases to surprise.

Festario,The other thing to consider,is the possible increase in growth.Which in 3-5 years could be double, and a 4% Dividend, very nice thank you. There was talk of a 5% Dividend, but with the increase in SP,that is around 4%,and below now.I am an income investor, and only held GVC,because I know I cannot get back in now around £4,and I have been compensated with growth of 67%.Plus I can look forward to the Dividend in Feb 2017,and further growth.Biggest share in my Portfolio now 11% of it.Best purchase I have made in 30 years with HGM.

But even at 4% of a higher SP, it's still a very attractive yield.Given that banks may soon be CHARGING for the privilege of looking after your money, stocks like this will be even more highly sought after.

Festario,Edison,s figures could be wrong.Only GVC know what the next Dividend would be !!!

Edisons eps estimates are a bit confusing.I believe their previous estimates were for 48p and with a savings of 12p/share on interest charges, I would have thought that would have raised eps by 25% to 60p.Edison say they are raising their eps estimate by only 6%.Odd,specially as that saving would fall straight to the bottom line.

Gary, about 40% less than I used to receive??? Doesn't sound a good deal to me.

Edison report a estimated 2017 Dividend yield of 3.7%.I work it out at 25pps,which would be about right. And rising to 4.8% in 2018.That equates to 36pps with a 750 share price

Hi Crazycoops, nothing technical on my part, I just look at the ADVFN graphs for 1 year and 3 years, and if you ignore the Brexit dip and last years dip caused by worried divi-hunters, then the underlying trend line is rock solid. But, as I said, the Ftse top 250 and regular news flow may well now re-rate us up and away from that line.

I wondered where BLNX had gone??CrazyCoops, the trend line on the graph is about 625p, but we seem to be in a whole new ball game now. The Ftse effect maybe?

Apologies for going off-piste. RTHM is RythmOne ( used to be Blinx ) and I am up 70%.
I would love to know what they do.

I am a great fan of GVC which has worked its way up to become my largest holding. I have immense confidence in the BoD. My only concern is that Theresa May will dream up some new tax to fit the image of the new, kind Conservative party. That would be a bummer.
A share worth looking at by anyone techie is RTHM. I followed Richard Griffith, a very successful investor, and am now up about 25% . I cannot say what they do but it is connected to advertising profiling, possibly !
Any enlightenmentwould be most welcome.

Not sure if anyone can learn much from me srp.My portfolio is only made up of a few shares - more than 70% is gvc and trak.In trak at average of 14p and its high enough at the moment but in a massively expanding market (telematics) should do well medium term. QTX in same market could do well also. Was in ECK but sold out last year to buy more gvc! It's a good company tho. These 2 (gvc/trak) have expanded from 20 to 75% of my portfolio and I've not found anything else to replace them although I'd like to invest in a VR company if I can find a decent one. Sorry to be a damp squib. My best investments over 25 years have been in companies where I really understood their business model. My best tip though would be to sell everything and buy gvc - someone told me they are going to 1500p!!CM

SrpI think I'll leave you to the gold diggers (I invest in what I know - tech/online) but I certainly agree about gvc. See you at 1500pCM

AS I have said I bought ezj at 126p, at the same time the IC
put ezj as a sell, I contacted them to discuss their incorrect
rating, after a good argument for about ten minutes, the IC
man said well lets see who is right in a couple of years.
EZJ went to 1800p, the same massive share price appreciation
will happen here at gvc, paf and hgm over the next few years.
Although they are moving well as you know bought here 79p upwards
( get us mylands ) paf 7p and hgm 30p.

dyor ( I do )
