GVC set to be a winner here as they will push FOBT users onto its online platform. Not an option for WMH

"In order to cover any negative impact on the public finances, and to protect funding for vital public services, this change will be linked to an increase in Remote Gaming Duty, paid by online gaming operators, at the relevant Budget."If the reduction in total FOBT spend falls by 98% as intended (100 to 2) then Gov will look to recover this lost income by significantly increasing online gaming duty?

I wouldn't think the bookies would do this for at least the next year to make as much as they can from the continuing £100 limit until 2020.

Does it happen to be blue, by any chance?

I feel the bookies will be moving the £100 a spin
customers onto something else before the drop to £2.

dyor

Guess what my favourite colour is?

2020 for legislation also makes sense to me as the Government needs to get Brexit through first.

If 2020 that would be a MAJOR result and see the share price rise considerably.

Imagine - GVC get LADS much cheaper and can run the profits for another 2 or 3 years.

Brilliant and evil of course

Predictable start with the large drop and then recovery.

Was dropping the kids off at school so could not trade it as planned. Sign

Am I the only one here who thinks all this is a win/win situation for GVC having to pay nothing to the Lads shareholders under the CVR while still being able to operate the FBOT's at £100 for the next 2 years.

Yes we will be positive soon I feel, the US opening
is the only story to focus on and I forgot the
massive revenue generating World Cup and the super
after WC revenue from new customers, dyor.

The average Lads lease is around 3 years which means GVC will be able to close the betting shops they need to without having to pay to get out of the leases and time enough to put in place plans for the shops they are going to keep.

Keeping a lot of people employed then.

Reports quote “ministersR21; as stating that the new legislation would not be implemented until 2020. This means that GVC will still be able to run the FBOT's at £100 for the next 2 years and gain the profits at the £100 for the next 2 years while not having to pay Lads any extra under the CVR arrangement.

Analysis by the Centre for Economics and Business Research claimed that roulette-style betting machines cost £116 million a year in hospital inpatient services, £32 million in mental health services and £16 million due to criminal behaviour.
