With its Argos division getting heavily fined for price fixing, will GUS henceforth be known as Great Universal Scams?

I beleive www.jungle.com is part of GUS?

Just been trying to buy on jungle and lots of the products have disappeared.
Phone the sales line and got a pre-prepared statement along the lines of: "following a strategic review, and taking account of the sister organisation Argos, the jungle stock levels are being temporarily reduced".

Maybe this is already known?

Looks as if, with the Homebase acquisition, there is some strategic realignment going on.

T.

off topic, posters here should be aware there may be a flaw in ADVFN's security system in terms of logging on and off and screen names.

Anyone with an i (indigo) or l (leg) in their screen name is at risk insomuch as the letters cannot be easily identified in the bold nickname above our posts in terms of substitution forone another and capital letters etc

Its becoming a problem on the public BBs

I have been impersonated, so has smelberg, and today oldolie

ADVFN IMHO this needs to be addressed somehow

GE To Provide Guidance for 2002 and 2003
Thursday November 21, 7:36 am ET

FAIRFIELD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 21, 2002--GE will provide earnings guidance for 2002 and 2003 today at a meeting with the financial community.
The meeting will be Webcast at www.ge.com/investor starting at 8:00 a.m.

John Rice, president and CEO of GE Power Systems, Dave Calhoun, president and CEO of GE Aircraft Engines, and Henry Hubschman, president and CEO of GE Capital Aviation Services, said they will discuss the outlook for their respective businesses. GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt and GE Senior Vice President and CFO Keith Sherin said they will cover four topics:

GE is lowering its 2002 earnings guidance from $1.65 per share to $1.51 per share, up 7% from 2001. Current business results for the fourth quarter and the full year are in line with the previous outlook, with one major exception: the Company is now planning to increase reserves at Employers Reinsurance Corporation (ERC) and to take a charge of approximately $1.4 billion after tax, or $.14 per share. Morning all - haven't seen anything really. Went long on Corus but closed flat. Waiting for the pm now I think

GNI is so delayed - not worth using it. Feel cross with them because they've known about the lack of proper back up for some time now. Is just sloppy that they're having to firefight to fix it.

The need has come for a trading software. Wanted to get used to a fairly simple to start with, maybe free on the net or for a small fee, with prices downloadable from web sites. Any suggestions?

rb5 - cheers. I didn't get it so wasn't sure if it was me or not.

Missed MKS short - bummer! Lots of sell signals coming up now, but wary - fear trading again. Must act!!

foale - well called recently. Must admit I'm a bit sceptical on 4200, but if it goes, it will probably instigate a 400-500pt rally with a pause around 4400. I'm a bit worried the flag I've been watching has not broken in the prescribed timescale though.
