There'll be a lot of corporate activity that's for sure, the legal framework will be tied up and the majors will want a cut of the action. As Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail who was Iraq's previous Oil Minister said only 2 years ago:-

"This is big money, if Sarsang Atrush and Shaikan should become one it would amount to the world's third largest oil field."

No.3 means 25-66 billion barrels of recoverable oil."

Development of a field of that size will need a consortium.

What neither of our 2 resident clowns ( BD5 & BBay ) understand ( or ever will understand) is that we are almost at the end of a 15 month NEGOTIATION . With all 3 sides playing cards. The reason it has taken so long is that events did not work out as the ICG planned . Kurdistan did not go bankrupt (or concede) nor did the Kurdish Oil Companies and International pressure on the ICG greatly increased. In other words the game changed over time.

A bit more patience is required before we get there .

You said Baghdad will have to offer better terms, doesn't look like it with $9/$10 on the table. You clearly asserted that based on those ludicrous numbers you made a fanfare about and that BB destroyed Baghdad would be paying $156pb.

The reason why I mentioned that the Vancouver isn't our normal type of crude tanker was that if chemicals_cleaning processes have been run on 'our' pipeline then wouldn't they need to be disposed of somehow?
However a couple of months ago a crude oil tanker was being reported by AIS to be destined for BOTAS but went to Ceyhan instead. I am still wiping the egg from my face to this day ....

PT, good spot.. IMHO we are looking at Crude Oil carriers rather than chemical or products. Also, cargoes of around 150,000 Dwt(1Mn Brls) or even, (unusually - unless they'll be refilling SPR), into a VLCC 300,000 Dwt (2Mn Brls).
Good watchkeeping though !, I'm on it also car bonnet style, so between us we'll soon see one going to the KRG pier by the sounds of things.
As for the muppet from near Portree, great to read his pathetic backpeddling and obsfucation, hilarious - he'll be along soon.

Too early to celebrate, but very positive news.
