Oil price

The big news today is all about The Fed who announce the widely expected 75bp increase in interest rates later. In oil which fell yesterday it is worth noting as I commented the other day that the differential is rising as Brent remains a tighter market than WTI.

The US announced another 20m barrels of crude to be released from the SPR shortly, it had better be soon otherwise they will have to buy it back themselves…

The IMF reduced its World growth prospects again, a trailing measure if ever there was one and after the close the API reported a draw of 4m barrels of crude, 1.1m of gasoline and some 554/- of distillates and today oil is up a dollar.

Well that's what happens when you're an oil company with lifting costs of $3 a barrel and the oil price is over $100 a barrel Sarah.

It means the company has so much money coming out of it's ears that it can return hundreds of millions a year to those of us that own shares with a dividend being paid a couple of weeks ago and another of twice that size to be paid two days from now.

It also means that the company was able to pay off the $100 million bond and will be able to finance all of it's development plans out of cash flow without the need for any debt.

It means they've been able to contract a second drilling rig to expedite the programme towards 100kbpd.

In addition it means that in the HYR 5 weeks or so from now the company will be able to impress the market with record profits that will drive the share price even higher.

But sadly, as a non shareholder you'll continue to miss out on all of that because you're an idiot.

And still no explanations from harriet as regards why no one has bought the field in thirteen years. Or how their "contact" was able to come up with their ludicrous value for the company. harriet obviously hasn't mentioned all the problems the field has.

Its a good job the OP has come to the company's rescue as the share price would be under £1.25 based on the lack of progress in six years.
