We are at 31000 barrels today; we will be at 55000 barrels this summer & weve got a pathway to double this to well over 100000. These are amazing onshore oilfields & for a Texan whose been drilling in the PERMIAN & areas like that, to find a well thats been producing 10000 barrels per day & its been doing that for almost a decade, its got almost another 20 years of life left. Its 39 API oil, so its very high quality oil. These are fields that are difficult to find especially onshore & so this is a very unique spot in the world to find large reserves of onshore oil & so were excited to be there & its a tremendous business & adventure for our team.

Sarsang (Triassic) (HKN - Ross Perot Jnr); Atrush (Jurassic) (ShaMaran - Lundin Group & with them taking out an 18 per event stake in HKN that was previously held by Total) & Shaikan (Jurassic) (GKP).

3 oil producing blocks close together & that line up in a row, North to South.

My guess is that prior to 1st oil RAK were very clever for trying to get the licenses . After the IOCs didn't want to upset the KMNRs Cashti by constantly asking for Shaikan so no bids arrived , why bother when they knew how they'd be received .

Wasn't there someone lined up as CEO just prior to Jon H, but he backed off saying the job was too big for him? It's certainly all looking quite big at the moment.

RAK have a substantial interest in DNO , another "bidder"RAK are also substantially owned by the same owners of one of the banks in the top 6 holders.The restructuring had to happen to demolish a Dno/RAK stake......Imvho.

Yes Nest,I remember posting that now,but I was really focusing on the time from when I held just pre shaikan and then the massive increase in speculation as the Shaikan Giant and it's Oil started to be unveiled,then speculation went off the scale as the share price rose to 450p+

RAK Petroleum announces deal for acquisition of Gulf Keystone

RAS AL KHAIMAH — RAK Petroleum announced yesterday that it has entered into an agreement with Gulf Keystone Petroleum Limited (Gulf Keystone) to acquire all of the issued and to be issued share capital of Gulf Keystone.

I have been here pre Shaikan since first BUY at 11p old money and I can say that there was no talk of Takeovers back then.Oil was discovered at Shaikan,still no T/O talk,but then the immense size of Shaikan started to emerge along with the fact we also held WI in BB,AB and SA,Gigantic potential for a small Oil Co,from that point onwards, we were always gonna be taken over,the only question was WHEN,imo.
Everything points to Corporate Action of some kind in the short term imo
Delayed FDP
Giving all spare cash back to shareholders
Paying off $100m bond
Acceleration of Shaikan payments and amounts owed by KRG cleared.
Appointment of Bermudan Amalgamation expert.
Now it may all be coincidental.but on the balance of probability,I DON'T THINK SO.

BTW I don't believe in coincidences or compensating errors.

Dno buying back bonds also from yesterday.

DNO ASA: DNO03 Bond Buyback
Oslo, 25 July 2022 – DNO ASA,  the Norwegian oil and gas operator, has completed buybacks in the DNO03 bond (ISIN: NO0010852643) totaling USD 25.2 million. The purchased bonds will be cancelled. Following cancellation, the outstanding amount of the DNO03 bond will be USD 150.9 million. The buybacks do not change the fixed maturity date of the DNO03 bond.

You can see why the ICG are so jealous. Surely all the KRG have to do is include them in the deal by giving them a small percentage of future revenue? Or is that too simplistic?

Hi Turvart, anything is possible and I'm sure that consolidation will happen at some stage. I'd certainly like to see a consortium moving into Shaikan at a fair price and developing the field, but speculating as to when and who is just that, speculation. Until then I'm happy to sit tight watch GKP go it alone and take the dividends.

Many of us have been here for 13 years and since oil was discovered at Sh-1 back in 2009 there's been constant talk and speculation on these boards about takeovers and consortiums so let's wait and see.

It could come today or it could be years away.

As a battle scarred veteran i'll believe it when it happens.

The minnow GKP is overseeing one of the largest oil fields on earth.

How the company is still independent 13 years after the Shaikan find is unbelievable tbh, but time is almost up imo.

Imo GKP is worth at least £100 per share with the current issue.
