"I helped get you in the position you find yourself in today 😂"

Now then Tony.

What position is that exactly.

I assume you're talking about the restructuring.

The restructuring was caused by the non payment of monthly invoices meaning the company couldn't service the debt.

Are you now saying that you are responsible for the non payment of the monthly invoices.

Could this be the sort of fantasy that Anastasia Vvedenskaya identified I wonder.

ERBIL, Kurdistan Region - Masoud Barzani, leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), spoke on the phone with Muqtada al-Sadr, leader of the Sadrist bloc, on Tuesday, discussing the latest developments in Iraq, with both emphasising coordination between political entities, according to a statement from Barzani’s office.

Barzani and Sadr “discussed the political situation and the latest developments” as well as “emphasising the need for coordination and approaching of entities in order to serve the interests of Iraq,” read the statement without providing more information.

Iraq held snap parliamentary elections on October 10. Sadr is the main winner of the vote after his bloc gained 73, and the KDP won 31 seats, becoming the largest Kurdish bloc in Baghdad.

The new members of the parliament were sworn in and they elected a new leadership for the legislature on January 9 but the Federal Court suspended the work of both deputy speakers and the speaker following a lawsuit against the election process.

However, the court decided on Tuesday that the election process was lawful and rejected the lawsuit.

Sadr, Barzani and Mohammed al-Halbousi - former and current speaker of the parliament - have formed an alliance for the formation of a new government.

The country has to elect a new president by February 8. The position has been held by Kurds for nearly two decades. The KDP and its rival Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) have fielded different candidates for the position, harming their relations.

The new president will task a candidate from the largest alliance to form a new cabinet.

The founder of a European oil and gas company was sentenced to five years in prison after admitting he failed to file tax returns on $66 million of income, which he blamed on a “bitter divorce.”

Todd Kozel, 55, who founded and led London-based Gulf Keystone Petroleum Ltd., was accused in 2018 of concealing assets in a foreign trust that included 29 million shares of the company and using about $12.8 million of those assets to buy a condominium in New York. He was later charged with willful failure to file tax returns from 2011 to 2015.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Louis Pellegrino told U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood at the sentencing hearing Wednesday that Kozel used offshore trusts and bank accounts to hide money and that his failure to file and pay taxes cost the U.S. about $29 million. He asked the judge to sentence Kozel to as many as five years in prison.

Kozel was also ordered to pay $29.5 million in restitution.

Kozel’s lawyer asked that his client get only home confinement and probation. Two of Kozel’s doctors testified at the hearing that Kozel suffers from metastatic cancer and complications related to a Covid-19 infection.

“I think there’s a tremendous risk for Mr. Kozel” if sentenced to prison, Dr. Alfred Joshua told the judge.

Wood rejected the argument.

“I am confident the Bureau of Prisons can adequately care for Mr. Kozel,” she said.

Tabloid Divorce

Kozel and his former wife, Ashley, filed for divorce in Florida in 2010 in a turbulent case that often provided fodder for New York’s tabloid newspapers. The press reported in May 2017 that Ashley won a court order allowing her to seize a condo in Chelsea that Kozel was sharing with his new spouse.

Kozel’s lawyer told Wood that Ashley Kozel had pushed for the criminal charges as part of a “vindictive” and “acrimonious” divorce case.

Kozel made an emotional statement to the judge before he was sentenced.

“I’m ashamed and embarrassed to come to this point in my life,” he told Wood at the remote hearing. “I assume full responsibility for my failure to file U.S. tax returns.”

The case is U.S. v. Kozel, 19-cr-00460, U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York (Manhattan).

Well that's quite a recovery. And looking sustainable too. Looks like the oil price and proposed divi have given us a boost. What a shame we didn't attain that elusive 50k bopd. We would have been looking at 250 per share today.

Yes, great to see us hold above 220p.
If we can keep above 220p for three days we may have a new floor.
