David Attenborough on climate change as I type. Unfortunately, doing something about it is going to cost a lot of people on here money, or take their boat/holiday away. They are not going to like that. 0ili0 25 Jan '20 - 17:51 - 598163 of 598164 0 2 0 Anything on telly tonight?

The company's share buybacks are an attempt to convey its confidence that the share price is cheap and this should contribute to the yield. Those shares are out of circulation and liquidity tightened. It's better if they do cancel the shares, and that's why it's a pretence. False confidence.

Totally agree Urals, the corporate presentation far more detailed and explains why the company is worth several billions at takeover.Nobody in mkt can then say they weren't made entirely aware , as long as they could be bothered to read the co presentation, which of course most aren't. Only question is will there be a leveraged recap pre sale ( hope so ) then sale, or just sale.in any event incoming........

#GKPRight answer over on advfn. They have flagged the immediate availability of very large total buyback budget, as all of it is going to be needed to be spent very soon.On probable leveraged recapitalisation(SP spike) and sale. https://t.co/TFsdW9XRI6

The only thing that really matters is what $/bbl the Production Sharing Contract gives you in terms of Profit Oil. The revenues generated via the Cost Oil determination are quite simply just the return of your capital expenditure - YOUR money that you have already spent (or money you had to borrow). . . slowly. When that capital expenditure has been covered by CO revenues received the CO revenue slows to a trickle or even stops (you can't get back more than you put in). So, how do you value that attitude at any possible takeover: “We had to spend all this money to get here – and we want it all back!” At current output level (41Mbopd) and Brent ($62/bbl) the return of your already-spent money via the CO determination is ca $11.80/bbl, and the Profit Oil Revenue is ca $3.370/bbl. “At these oil price levels the Kurdish PSC isn’t really worth having!” ...unless of course you're at the feeding trough.

Oh Hairy one, When will you finally except that this was ramped to death by the company and the MNR in the early days because they wanted more people to invest in Kurdistan so they could get independence. Everyone was had ! Ask about SA1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Those cracks make it difficult to drill. But the fact that it is difficult to drill with the fractures means the wells are more productive," said Richard Lowe, the Gulf Keystone drilling manager. "It's almost sort of an inverse relationship – it's challenging because of the fractures and drilling conditions, but the upside is the actual scale of the field." ... "It is extremely challenging," said Lowe, "but the rewards are quite good -- we find one billion barrels here, one billion barrels there." hxxp://www.iraqoilreport.com/business/companies/gulf-keystone-doubles-down-on-kurdistan-8292/

Buyback means nought until the company CANCELS the shares. Its not even maths to sum up the production rates - just socks off arithmetic.

Bigdog5 my question is very simple. If the 2012 Ryder Scott Fracture Report supports the ERC 0.4% "adopted" figure, then why haven't GKP published it?

Ok. They could have just run down the first 15m tranche, over the next 3 wks, then invoked the last 10M when it ran outBut no, flagged available immediately, as was DETAILED CORPORATE presentation OVER AND ABOVE the PARETO next day. They will announce sale very shortly, AND possibly leveraged recap just prior. They have sanctioned extra Available funds to take out a LOT of shares if there is a RECAP,, as Most retail will sell the spike, or simply on sale, they will use the cash budgeted and buyback the stock in mkt at whatever the sale price is. The End.

What in the presentation says its worth billions? 24m profit? never ending can kicking of production. 192m cash minus $100m debt plus $40m interest. Payments 6 months late, no FDP, no oil law, no takeover.

Btw, I have it on very good authority that the numbers that Kozel bragged about are complete BS as I've been saying for ages. Also, what most investors fail to understand is that its only the "moveable oil" that has any value. Match that against what has been proved in 11 years and you may come to the conclusion that its a small percentage. There's very good reasons for that. Just managing expectations.

sOrayad, I'm unsure as to who you think you're conversing with but you are all over the place with your "assumptions". You would do so much better if you would concentrate on the paperwork, the BER and other associated caveats that the company had to abide by. You may then arrive at the answer to all. Imo shareholders were completely mislead by all the announcements of "working for shareholder value". Aiui, it was all over by then.

I've been saying for ages companies buyback their own shares in desperation. The aim is to try and increase their share price However its an admission that they're unable to use their working capital to best effect and grow the business. It's straight out of the playbook. McFly, you're not expecting the clueless morons to be able to do the maths as regards production numbers against all the different wells are you, lol.
