So for 150m Bucks buying in 58m shares at average £2 over past 6 months they increase LTH value by 25%. They don't need to fund the future development - the new owners will do that and it's a pittance that the bond market would stampede to lend to them !!

So let's say they have /are spending 150m for 20% example that's 58m shares at VWAP £2 (And let's hope they were on the other side of the Taconic sells) And they have got say 20% bought in At takeover with a $ 4bn price = £ £13.5 / share on 229m if they bought 20% in and cancelled makes it £17 a share A 25% uplift 😎😎 CAPITAL the architects of the destructure would like that - me too👌🍾;🚀

1. but the reduced cash will still have to be reported come results, so in affect the market will be notified eventually 2. my point still stands, reduce shares but reduce cash, its cosmetic, the value of the takeover will not change 3. and look where that got us, diluted into oblivion. 4. they have already told us how much it will cost to get to 55k, not far off cash on hand, completely irresponsible to divert cash away from expanding production to simply buy back shares which offers no fundamental value to the business, unlike selling more oil will

1. The proxy don't need to tell the market ( Bermuda registration rules here ) 2. It incredibly profitable action for remaining shareholders on takeover 3 they borrowed 525m with no income to get this far with no INCOME 4 free cash flow 100m plus a year INCOMEnow funds any future CapEx which they'd ever need It's called "optimising the capital structure " they have far too much cash they don't need

"GKP - BUYING ITS OWN STOCK IN SINCE MARCH? - Discuss😊" highly unlikely firstly, dont they have to notify the market of share buy backs? secondly it is pointless, its purely cosmetic, yes there will be less shares in circulation but then there is less cash......its robbing peter to pay paul lastly, it would be foolish with the CAPEX needed just around the corner to reach 55k

A great question - and I have the answer. They refinanced the 100m notes when they didn't need too for YEARS in the spring - and they didn't need any CapEx cash. And they didn't get a cheaper rate new notes had same interest rate SO NO ADVANTAGE - SO WHY REFINANCE THEN ? Because refinance meant a covenant preventing them from borrowing more than another 45m( from memory ) was removed. So IMO this allowed them to obtain a LARGE line of credit to allow them buy in stock WITHOUT using their own cash and of course WITHOUT TELLING THE MARKET ( as the price would 🚀 make the process less effective)-the cash on deposit grows ever bigger and used as security against the line of credit they use to buy in stock.Bermuda rules mean the PROXY that's doing the buying in for them not required to disclose. LTH Like me and CAPITAL make bigger profits still on TAKEOVER shares in issue reduced.... 20% bought in increases takeover/share by 25% 40% bought in increases by 66% FILL YER BOOTS AND HOLD

Genel holders all think something is not right with the GKP story & valuation: (Gulf toddstone - I like that) kris akabusi19 Sep '18 - 09:21 - 26459 of 26462 mmmm, pesh, smear me all over with your oily goodness mug punters being suckered into gulf toddstone all over again Sparky33319 Sep '18 - 09:33 - 26460 of 26462 Exactly We pump more oil, more FCF, 8 wells this year of which 6 will contribute to more production THIS YEAR. We have Pesh, we have Bina light oil, we have somaliland and Morrocco. Yet the GKP crew because they have a net cash position believe they are under valued and should be multiples higher. Really ? If that’s the case we should also be multiples higher. Do not get me wrong Skaiken is a beauty but $200m and over a year away to 55k We could be at that level in Q1 19 and not $200m cyan19 Sep '18 - 09:35 - 26461 of 26462 Good morning Kris akabusi. GKP is in a far better palce than it was , BUT it was at the expense of enormous pain to long term holders. Was a terrible investment for those that held too long. Its the Market to book ratio that gives the game away as to real value; GENL just 0.4 and GKP with an inflated 1.88. The potential value growth is greater in GENL; not just because of the outstanding performance from PESH or the soon to be developed Miran oil fields; Its the GAS; the enormous gas assets which will more than double the business.

Good points from Cyan on the Genel board regarding the share price and dilution but no mention of market capital of both companies. It also provides an indication of just how far we have to go ....

More perfect 'summing up' by Cyan over at Genel: cyan19 Sep '18 - 08:49 - 26456 of 26456 0 0 0 For new investors unaware of each company's history its all too easy to be misled as to relative performances. GKP's share price at 292p looks amazing in comparison to GENL at circa 225p. BUT , new investors may not be aware that since GKP were diluted to near oblivion in 2016 there has been a hundred to one CONSOLIDATION. So, in reality GKP's share price would be 2.92p today without the consolidation. 2.92p compared to 225p does not look so impressive now. Some will remember the ludicrous prices that GKp hit before their financial woes; they were multiple pounds and Pi's were very excited; until that bubble burst. Lessons learnt, for some.

At 2.87 pence, it is all rather amazing & C.H.I.L.D.I.S.H. in the extreme to see losers here bragging about the share price Oh well, the posters at Genel are not impressed with events, and many see GKP as over bloated & overpriced, as do most 'normal' people looking at the Scam being played out once again: cyan18 Sep '18 - 20:30 - 26452 of 26455 "Maybe GKP can afford the 100 quid..?" Perhaps GKP management thinks it a good idea to constantly reassure their shareholder base whose equity was all but decimated in the past. In 2016 there were 1,032,433,052 shares. To get out of their financial debt crisis another 21,910,523,665 shares were created pay off a big chunk (but not all )of what was owed. Shareholders were diluted out of sight. When people bemoan GENL's share performance by comparing with Gkp , I say look at the history.
