There are precedents for secrecy, Arcadian. BG and Cove spring to mind.

Can`t believe that any development agreement between the various mooted parties including The City could be kept a secret unless of course the agreement is fairly recent and the new appointment carries a lot of weight in this context.

Crazy return for shareholders in July, by the looks of things.

Will GKP still be around come Halloween? I doubt it.

Well NOR my hope is that Korruptistan leaders one way or another will own some big slices of the company .
That could be via being beneficial owners of some of the top 10 major holders, and or from the big chunk outside.
Its a once in a lifetime opportunity for to profit from a huge capital gain.

You are probably right GC , pockets to be lined all done in a agreed sale

It is an SGM.
Its not a bid - its an agreed sale if its a friendly deal( most likely), via a sales implementation agreement entered into long since , the vote will be merely be a formality.

If there is a bid there will be a vote in a EGM ( I think ) the shares being bought now are for that vote I imagine , there is a chance then that the vote will go against the opportunity of allowing another 2nd bid ?

Re JB's £150 ... in a fair world yes , but in GKP land it will be £74.50 . Workings posted about 300K posts ago.

Makes sense, G_C, but I think there is some restriction in that bond re corporate action et al which they want rid of to pursue whatever course of action they have in mind. Time will reveal.

P2 - normally the acquiring co would pay off the bonds as part of deal.
Because GKP have so much cash , by paying it down themselves from own resources , this then means shareholders receive an extra 40p / share on sale of the company.
If they were staying independant - they would not be doing this.

Might be already OAP, but 25/26th July was settlement and renewal of the current bonds. So perhaps then.I think paying out 75% of all your cash in 1 month rather cavalier........Unless you know you don't need it soon as CNPC /et al , now the bank managers.

No, here till the fat lady, GC, but if there's a condition in that bond preventing free action in some form or other it would all be logical to have it removed before they outline any plans. Just a case of wait and see now.

Anybody know when that bond can be repaid without penalty? I reckon that's the day when things might start to move. The mm's and big players will know when that is imo.
