Its a bit odd I agree especially as they have Egyptian pilots on board just for the Suez transit. Mind you there is a fair bit of windage on these containers. There is a rumour doing the rounds about it being deliberate.

Take your point about the sand pumps , once they have them in place that is . I dont see what else they can do, even with the unloading. The tugs arent up to the job .

Yes H7 the thrusters and tugs are clearly deficient , but the wind has blown before , strange isn't it.

Perella Weinberg worked a blinderCORRECT - MAKE YOURSELF AWASH WITH CASH (NOW) THEN YOU ARE THE COMPLETE OPPSITE OF DISTRESSED SELLER...SELLING UP ONLY IF ITS AN OFFER YOU CANT REFUSE :)That's what Perella Weinberg have done - positioned the company to drive MAXIMUM value from sale.++++++++A source familiar with the M&G strategy said the fund was convinced management changes were needed at Gulf Keystone to improve company performance."You don't enter into sale negotiations with the position of weakness. The company needed to address short-term liquidity problems first," the source said.+++++++

Stop shifting the agenda, Muttley. We know shale is light oil and there's no market for it whereas the Shaikan sludge is selling like hot cakes and producing c. $20m a month for GKP. Shale oil?, cuh. Yesterday's news.

As Robin Day said to John Nott, here today, gone tomorrow. 7 day wonder is shale oil.

How's the oil agreement looking, lol.

Is the tanker captain a relative of any of you clueless fantasists:-)

Did the Saudis not realise their actions would bring the Yanks shale production back into the game? Once that ramps up and they get exporting again that's likely to have a dramatic affect on the price of oil won't it.

But it would give the hosts more time to pay down their debts wouldn't it so silver linings eh:-)

Oh, were you thinking that they would be paying their debts to the oily's.

Shafaq News/ A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee said on Sunday that a trilateral meeting between the Parliament's Presidium, the Political blocs, and the Kurdish delegation might be decisive for today's voting over the 2021 Federal Budget bill.

Committee Member, MP Nada Shakir Jawdat, said in a statement to Shafaq News Agency, "the atmosphere is conducive for the vote. However, the final moments can change everything and postpone the vote to tomorrow, Monday."

Jawdat said the public pressure exerted on the political blocs plunged them into a critical position, which might catalyze the passing of the bill today.

Jawdat revealed that the Parliament Presidium will convene with the political blocs and KRG's delegation, "the meeting decides between voting or tabling the bill to another session."

Jawdat continued, "two disputed issues are halting the voting. The first is related to Kurdistan Region's oil, and the second revolves around the dollar's pricing," asserting "any guarantees between KRG's delegation and the political bloc will break the impasse."

A partisan source revealed to Shafaq News Agency that the KRG's delegation arrived in Baghdad last night to resume the long-standing negotiations over the Federal Budget bill.

We're not salvage experts, NOR, but if they could use those I'm sure they would as the salvage crew will be on a performance related pay scheme I'd bet. Maybe they can't get them into the right place quickly enough and unloading is a quicker option?

How are they going to use a heavy crane in the sand and get it up there ? They will need to build foundations for it or use a crane barge - sailed in from the other side ! How long is that going to take ? This is definitely FUBAR.

Was it an accident ? LOL

It's stuck into the mud at the front end and there's no way they think they can get that loose. The back is more free and their hope is that with a higher tide and removing some back end weight they can pull it backwards and then sideways into the deeper channel and then unstick the front end by pulling the whole thing backwards. If that doesn't work then it's onto unloading and there are floating cranes en route so they obviously think it's a slim chance to float it loose.

I also read that the female captain was heard to say immediately before the abrupt change of direction "oh what's this button for?" Whether that's right or wrong I don't know but the article I read was suggesting human error.

I think this was the article:

Days before the Evergreen got lodged in the Suez Canal, Israel was pushing its alternative canal plan in the media, and now they are continuing to do so. Is this JSIL's plan to get crowd funding or something? #SuezBLOCKED

Probably no need to take them all off but I would imagine they'd need a bloody big land based crane to do it.
