WHY THE TROLLS ARE HERE 24/7The Shaikan structure has a footprint the size of Greater London, plus the side lobe and the Cretaceous flanks. The words used by the management were they don't anticipate restarting work anytime soon and possibly not for another 12 months.

Right, so this is what you say the Company is telling it's employees:-

"the company won't be restarting anytime soon and to find other jobs."

This where you're getting confused again Sarah.

We'll not be restarting anytime soon is simply a vague wooly statement for a vague wooly situation that means that we don't know when we'll be restarting. So it's a perfectly true, correct, and reasonable thing to say.

But that's a very far cry from what YOU said:-

"development will not be restarting for a very long time."

Do you see where you've gone wrong Sarah.

The Company said "We don't know", and you've interpreted that to mean "not for a very long time".

Jon Ferrier who has no idea when the lockdown will be lifted and so has no idea when those people can return to site has been scrupulously honest with them and instead of giving them false promises has told them that they should therefore look for other work.

It's exactly what I would have done.

But where are they going to find jobs Sarah. Unemployment in Kurdistan was already running at circa 15%, and now because of the lockdown and the closure of the economy it's sky high.

Oil companies the world over have been laying people off, so where are all those contractors going to go.

And when we do go back to work and take people and contractors on again all those salaries and contractor rates will be a lot lower than they are now. So another reduction in our cost base.

As I say, there'll be a long queue at the gate on the day we go back to work.

And the following day they'll all be beavering away in their old jobs.

Shafaq news/ Kurdistan Regional Council (KRG) is due to meet on Wednesday to discuss a variety of internal issues, including relationships between Erbil and Baghdad.

The spokesman for the region's government said in a statement received by Shafaq news agency, that the government will meet today to discuss a number of issues; the most prominent of which are the talks with Baghdad.

The Council will also discuss the steps to be taken to activate the reform law in the region and its implementation mechanism, in addition to issues related to the internal situation of the region.

The Prime Minister of Kurdistan region, Masrour Barzani, met Tuesday with the delegation of negotiations with the Federal Government through a closed-door television circuit (video-conference).

The government's statement said that at the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister, Qubad Talabani, highlighted the visit made by the delegation of the Kurdistan region to Baghdad last week, the outcomes of the talks with the federal government and the proposals for resolving the outstanding issues between the two sides.

The statement quoted Barzani saying that Kurdistan region will continue its talks with Baghdad with the purpose of reaching an agreement that guarantees its constitutional rights and entitlements; confirming that Kurdistan region is determined to defend its legitimate rights within the framework of the Iraqi constitution and will never give up.

The region's negotiating delegation headed by the deputy prime minister of the region, Qubad Talabani, went, last Tuesday, on a third round of negotiations with the federal government is Baghdad.

The Government delegation visit to Baghdad was preceded by a visit of Kurdistan region's president, Nechirvan Barzani, in which he met with the three presidencies, Leaders of powers and political parties in Baghdad.

Yes you always say that don't you Sarah.

You always think that others should put in the legwork to prove or disprove what you say.

But after all these years someone of your age should have developed the common sense to know that it doesn't work like that.

You made the statement that "there will be no development for a very long time".

You may well be right but what you have said so far on the subject is pure guesswork which doesn't tell us anything. Like this for instance:-

"Nothing will restart until the new CEO aka trough muncher is in place and he has evaluated the situation, only then would they consider hiring new staff who would then need site training and accustomisation."

Your "there will be no development for a very long time" statement may as I say, well be right, but nobody knows, and if you want to make your point the onus is on you to prove what you say, it's not on me to disprove it.

So you contact the company Sarah and post what they come up with making sure that we can substantiate it because you don't have a very good reputation around these parts.

And I'm particulary interested in what they say about this:-
