And there it is, your default refuge in
name calling. The end point in every debate
that you engage in. It's an admission of
defeat. When will you learn?

No Rose its because you are a coward and don't have the guts to post the same drivel on GGP or any other site. Mind you most have you on ignore on there anyway.

Zoo, it is interesting that you both decry my
posts here and simultaneously encourage me to
post similar information to other forums. I
will continue to post where, when and as I see
fit. Even those who claim to filter me read
my posts avidly here.

Rose you are posting rubbish, interesting that you don't post the same rubbish on the likes of GGP, SVE and other sites. Would that be because you know that you would be moderated and blocked?

I don't "talk about beards". I posted a link
to an article in a major newspaper in which
the official scientific body in the USA, the
Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
warned that facial hair may interfere with the
effectiveness of face masks and respirators
used to combat the spread of diseases such
as coronavirus. Their words, not mine.

Once again zoo has misrepresented my posting
of official scientific information as me
sounding off on my own opinion. Just so you
know.

amt- I am in charge of me. You are in charge of
you. I am alive now because I listen to all the
voices and make up my own mind. I have through
the years come to believe that it is important
to pay close attention to what the government
says and then do the opposite. They are not on
your side.

My quotes are from official bodies and experts
that are in conflict with each other. The "out
of date" quotes are given to contrast what they
are saying now, with complete confidence, to
what they said before, with equal confidence.
You follow these people at your peril.

It is a failing of sheep minded liberals to
castigate anyone that doesn't toe the line as
stupid and/or uneducated. I am not anti-vaccine.
I am pro-choice. I have probably been vaccinated
more than most in this forum. I had the original
polio vaccine, on a sugar cube, and the subsequent
one, by injection. I have three smallpox
vaccination scars, and I don't even know how many
tropical diseases I was vaccinated for when I was
in the US army, slated to go to south east Asia.

In this instance I have elected to wait until the
issues are clearer before I choose to accept this
vaccination. Perhaps there will be a single jab
option with fewer question marks in the near future.

AMT, Three things. Firstly, Rose is just attention seeking. Secondly, he doesn't care what he posts because he is trying to achieve the first point. Thirdly, he talks about beards and masks. Utter rubbish, see below. We saw it with Trump who lost and he actions are in the mail all being reversed. He talks rubbish about beards. Beard information. Last paragraph is interesting. Beards in the operating room are controversial because of their potential to retain and transmit pathogenic organisms. Many bearded orthopedic surgeons choose to wear nonsterile hoods in addition to surgical masks to decrease contamination of the operative field. The goal of this study was to determine whether nonsterile surgical hoods reduce the risk of bacterial shedding posed by beards. Bearded (n=10) and clean-shaven (n=10) subjects completed 3 sets of standardized facial motions, each lasting 90 seconds and performed over blood agar plates, while unmasked, masked, and masked and hooded. The plates were cultured for 48 hours under aerobic and anaerobic conditions. Colony-forming units (CFUs) were quantified, expanded, and identified. Overall, the addition of surgical hoods did not decrease the total number of anaerobic and aerobic CFUs isolated per subject, with a mean of 1.1 CFUs while hooded compared with 1.4 CFUs with the mask alone (P=.5). Unmasked subjects shed a mean of 6.5 CFUs, which was significantly higher than the number of CFUs shed while masked (P=.02) or hooded (P=.01). The bearded group did not shed more than the clean-shaven group while unmasked (9.5 vs 3.3 CFUs, P=.1), masked (1.6 vs 1.2 CFUs, P=.9), or hooded (0.9 vs 1.3 CFUs, P=.6). Bearded surgeons did not appear to have an increased likelihood of bacterial shedding compared with their nonbearded counter parts while wearing surgical masks, and the addition of nonsterile surgical hoods did not decrease the amount of bacterial shedding observed.Copyright 2016, SLACK Incorporated.

Other side of the coin-

Model Caprice Bourret appeared on the Jeremy Vine
Show on 16 March 2020 and suggested UK go into total
shutdown for two weeks "because it worked in Asia"
but Dr Sarah Jarvis (a scientist) argued that the
strategy had 'categorically not worked' and later
said wearing surgical masks makes 'no difference at
all' to virus spread.

Viewers questioned what 'right' a model had to
challenge the 'expert' on a medical topic.

Has Dr Jarvis changed her mind? Or does she not
accept the "science" now being disseminated by
others?

Beards make face masks ineffective, according
to the US Center for Disease Control:

As it happens, I sometimes have a beard.

That article, from a year ago, goes on to say:

'Those who have problematic facial hair shouldn’t worry,
however, as the CDC does not advise the routine use of
respirators outside of the workplace, nor does it recommend
that healthy individuals wear face masks to protect against
coronavirus.

“There’s little evidence they are very effective,” Jimmy
Whitworth, professor of international public health at the
London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine previously
told The Independent regarding face masks. '

Has the science changed? Were they lying then or are they
lying now?

The CDC and WHO give conflicting advice on masks.
'"If you are healthy, you only need to wear a mask
if you are taking care of a person with COVID-19,"
the newly updated WHO guidelines read.'

AMT- I do read the scientific data. There
are many scientists making statements and
they do not all agree. That is the normal
condition with science. The twelve countries
that have suspended the vaccine are not doing
so because they are ignoring science, but
because they are paying attention to ALL the
science.

Masks? We were told at the beginning that masks
were not useful, and it was all about washing
your hands. Dr. Fauci (a scientist in the USA)
has since said that this was put out to stop
ordinary people buying up masks, which were then
in short supply, so that there would be enough
for health care workers. So "science" lied to us
for reasons of expedience. Are they still lying?
How would you know? All one can say is that they
are inconsistent and do not agree with each other.

I despair Rose.
For the last time please open your mind and listen and read the scientific data.
You can still get Coronovirus if you have been vaccinated however it wont kill you and is unlikely to hospitalise you, Non vaccinated people are more likely to spread it.
The mutations issue you should be able to work out for yourself.
I completely understand why Alan would keep clear of non vaccinated people.
If people like you dont give a damn about their fellow humans then maybe vaccine passports will need to be brought in. Maybe you should have to pay for your treatment if you get ill.
You will be telling me next that you dont want to wear a mask.

You make it worse by peddling out of context stuff.
Its highly irresponsible stuff you are writing.
Remember that the fewer people who get vaccinated the more people will die.
Just think about that for a moment before writing.

G5 very true, however if he understood what he was spouting off about he would know there are three types of virus mutation.One. Where it mutates and does nothing, meaning its still active. Two. It mutates and destroys its DNA sequencing making it harmless.Three. The mutation changes the DNA sequencing in such away that it makes it more prevalent and dangerous, which is what we are seeing.Time to head home for lunch.Zoo
