13/10/2018 15:29 | Tony. IMHO if it were to be a management/major shareholder buyout then I do not believe it would ever be taken public again. Another scenario would be a major miner competitor who has closed zinc mines and wants to get back in with a fully operational mine (with expansion potential) rather than recommission old closed mines. In terms of price I think that would depend if there is either strong opposition and/or a bidding war but given the best case scenario of licence approval and commodity price recovery I do not think £1.80 to £2 is impossible. That’s certainly my personal target out point unless a good divi is announced. As always DYOR | millwallfan
13/10/2018 14:33 | Wish you well Alan, and cheers to a future healthy profit. I have been reading other posters hopes for a bonus with a buy out. Personally i have the view of a managed buy out, sooner rather than later, and floated again on the Hong Kong market. Any ideas what price it would fetch in this scenario. Lol. | tony6061
13/10/2018 13:47 | Good for you tony, I am too ,I wasn't lucky enough to sell any higher,I do tend to stick with my portfolio and let it run and run , | alangrifbang
13/10/2018 13:26 | Topped up here 102 pence, mining higher zinc grades, gold price recovering, zinc looking much stronger, maybe trumps fuse running out of steam. Exploration and a mining licence for zone 2 will make this rocket, maybe they learned a lesson , and reward shareholders with divi next time. Im opptimistic | tony6061
12/10/2018 13:34 | according to the FT copper and steel going well in China Presumably zinc also | phillis

10/10/2018 12:43 | Key paragraph from above link is 'ZINC: The most-traded zinc on the Shanghai Futures Exchange closed 2.3 percent higher at 22,935 yuan ($3,314.35) a tonne, after earlier rising to 23,110 yuan a tonne, its loftiest since June 15. Three-month zinc on the London Metal Exchange was largely unchanged.' The kit could chart currently shows which is around $2,220so it would appear that the price in China is currently at a slight premium- hopefully GFM will be able to take advantage and increase second half year profits to offset som of the disappointing H1 figures and thus restore some investor confidence | millwallfan
10/10/2018 09:54 | Looks like the LME has stopped trying to maintain stocks above 240,000 tonnes and is now trying to hold the line at 200,000. I say "looks like" because I have no idea if they actually would do such a thing, or can, or how they would go about it. | rose_by_another_name
10/10/2018 07:39 | Good morning,zinc gone past 2700 this morning,hopefully another push! | alangrifbang
09/10/2018 11:28 | At one point, China forbade the export of zinc. I don't know if that is still in effect. | rose_by_another_name
09/10/2018 09:39 | Up. Good find. However, That's only a 20% increase over the next 9 years so just over 2% per annum. Let's hope GFM have a chance to get ahead of the game in the early years. I have never understood why china don't want to 'buy local' to minimise transport costs etc - so please issue the final licence approval asap! | millwallfan

07/10/2018 11:37 | something to keep the Chinese wheels spinning | phillis
06/10/2018 18:02 | Sage. In my book a takeover would only be a 'bonus' if it is at a large premium price to current level. You and I have alluded elsewhere to the potential value of the company should zinc fully recover and the licence be confirmed enabling production to almost double. Hopefully there will not be any hostile move before one or both occur. A bidding war really would be a bonus if a couple of majors became involved. | millwallfan |
