The only thing that has remained constant is the actual number 20.26M JPM shares actually reported SHORTED. It is the LOANED shares that are the variables and usually lent out by ETF's and large holders for an extra income. Everything is loaded against the PI."The share lending program is beneficial for investors who want to earn extra income from stock that is sitting in an account and idle, Wilkinson says.""Each day that stock is on loan, participants in the program will be paid interest on the cash collateral posted to their accounts for the loan based on market rates," he says.Chris Larkin, senior vice president at E-Trade. "When it comes to fees, your broker-dealer will generally split 50% of the earned income. That said, just because you enroll in these programs, it's not a guarantee that the securities from your portfolio will get picked. It all goes back to the demand there is on the Street."

The dollar will only weaken when inflation subsides and guess what - gold is apparently a hedge against inflation so probably screwed every which way.

More pain unless the dollar weakens but even then I think it will only be a temporary relief

Exactly. The FTSE has dipped below 7000 a couple of times this morning, which is pretty much a 1-yr low. When you think where the FTSE should have gone from it's 7900 peak, the whole market looks very cheap at the moment.

The falling gold price is doing the damage.

This just gets worse and worse. How low can this complete and utter dog go?Dropping back below the placing price is an utterly terrible sign.

You seem completely unaware, Telbap, that what counts for investors now, is the value of whatever gold, funding, dilution, etc etc is there and likely to be there. The market is telling you what it thinks it is. Nothing else, not your awe of gold or of Mr Day (who comes across to anyone older than 17 as a blusterer) or your dismissal of JPM and NCM who, I think, are a bit older than you.

Hydrogen is just inert. Missing Chickenbait and his informed comment on Gemfields.

Well, hopefully those who hero worship Hydrogen and his hysterical ramblings can see that the shares on loan are reducing at a rate of knots, with absolutely zero positive affect on the share price Shorters do not appear to be burning in hell, nor is there a short squeeze. Of course the usual crew will now get into semantics about shorts deployed/on loan, in order to distance themselves from previously supporting his nonsense. Be very careful who you listen to, always DYOR.
