You're not being cynical enough... The cynic in me says that the price went down to make the price more attractive for a potential buyer of Ecotricity's holding. As we know, every rise is short covering ;-)

The cynic in me thinks the good news and bounce in the share price is an opportunity to try and place the Ecotricity holding. Because Ecotricity file their accounts at Companies House at the last possible moment it is hard to see how much they would need the cash but I am sure they could find a use for a few million quid.

I think the value of an indigenous energy supply is not fully appreciated. Instability in Iran, Saudi and Venezuela could zap up energy prices in a flash.GOOD uses locally sourced renewables, of course.

And ping. If lower gas usage was the reason for the H1 2017 fall in profits imagine the fall this H1 with all the hot weather. A tiny bit of speculation and it pings up 11% so insiders buying on good news expected or just speculation?

Have been a supplier of theirs for the last 4 years using a Feed in tariff , now back in December I gave them a meter reading which should have resulted in some monies back in Feb 2018 , no payment received , when I asked why , the answer was oh I wonder how that happened , there was no urgency to correct the error and make a payment , you will get paid next time , ie end of may , what a rubbish way to behave , they have my cash and are not parting with it as they should.!!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a piece recently in Private Eye questioning the green credentials of the company. The allegation was that they were not just using organic waste material to produce Biomethane but edible food too.
