Well with earnings up 80% in H1 to near 9p these still look good value imo.

The institutions who bought in at just 85p a couple of months ago will also be glad they got some (i.e. four million quid's worth) - they've more than doubled their money already (on paper at least)!

Liquidity is pretty thin: volume of 55,514 today has added £3.5 million to the market capitalisation -

The "exchange market size" is just 2,000.

Nice to see a renewable energy company doing well for a change, after all the recent investment disasters in this sector!

The growth in feed-in tariff customers looks particularly impressive ... albeit that the company don't expect this level of FIT growth to continue.

"Good Energy's FIT administration services have been in considerable demand due to various government deadlines on FIT in 2012. The number of FIT customers now stands at over 39,000, an increase of 36,965 in the past 12 months. While the expectation is that growth in FIT customer numbers will now slow significantly, following the recent 31 July 2012 tariff change, the FIT administration business with its annual administration fees is important to the Group."

"HOW THE TARIFFS MAKE YOU MONEY
There are three separate ways that the Tariffs help you make money from generating your own energy:

The Generation Tariff:
You earn a fixed income for every kilowatt hour of electricity you generate whether you use yourself in your property or export it to the grid.

The Export Tariff:
You earn an additional fixed income for every kilowatt hour of electricity you sell back to the grid.

The bit you still buy from your electricity supplier:
When you can't generate enough electricity for your needs (if the wind don't blow and the sun don't shine) you still buy electricity from your utility company at the normal rates but it'll be much less electricity than you currently buy."

P.S. Shammytime's recent prediction now looks a bit less ridiculous, with the sharp rise this week to 142.5p.

I'm a user because although they're not the cheapest, they're the only 100% renewable electricity company in the market and that's a brand value I'm interested in. Consumers don't always go for the cheapest - they buy the brand (which is great in a highly commoditised market like electricity) and good energy has the strongest brand for this niche in the market. They're never going to be EDF or its equivalent, but they are building up a loyal customer base that isn't going to switch the next time the Daily Mail runs a rip-off Britain campaign.

I'm an investor in this company because the politics of energy (renewables targets, energy security, global warming, etc) point to the economics of renewables having to be brought into line with fossil-fuel generation (or nuclear) as the majority of customers, including many on this board I'd guess, won't switch unless the offering is competitive. Unfortunately for the Government and tax-payer, that means subsidies.

Comparing their tariffs with what we pay, they seem very uncompetitive for gas and electric. I guess their chief focus must be people who are sufficiently well off and eco-friendly that they are happy to overpay to feel as though they are saving the planet.

The EPS is pre the flotation dilution so won't look quite so good for the FY. Intriguing company nevertheless. Anyone actually use them?

A near doubling of earnings to 8.4p eps in H1 - fabulous growth for a PE that looks like single digit imo.

Shame it's hard to buy any volume.

All imo/dyor etc.

150p by the end of this week, Shammytime??!!

Considering that it's already Thursday, that would be quite something!

You'll forgive me for being somewhat sceptical.
