Cash and cash equivalents at the end of Dec 2022 were GBP24.5m, with a further GBP8.4m in restricted deposit accounts. Within restricted deposits, GBP4.5m relates to Government support scheme monies received in late December for application to business and domestic customer accounts in January. The compo was already there, put aside. 32m market cap for a 200m plus revenue profitable company, with cash near two thirds of its cap, growing, no true debt, pays a divi .. jeez.

The disposal of its generation assets removes that attractive feature of Good Energy but presumably resolves its financial crisis caused by the spike in gas / wholesale energy prices? The alternative was special administration?

Its mature assets include two onshore windfarms in Cornwall and Yorkshire, seven (?) solar farms, and something to do with biogas? A total peak capacity of 47.5MW valued in June at £58M but probably risen since, against borrowings then of about £40M. Who might be a buyer, proposing a quick sale.

I reckon Ecotricity will finally try and bow out by placing their holding in GOOD. The GOOD management have done a good job and seem as well positioned as they can be. There should be takers of the Ecotricity stake around the £3 level.

The decision comes on the day Nigel Pocklington, chief executive renewable energy supplier Good Energy, said his company would not take on new customers from collapsed firms because they were a "loss-making proposition".

Mr Pocklington told the BBC's Today programme that while Good Energy was "sympathetic" to customers feeling uncertainty, larger companies may be better placed to take them on.

Interesting price action here recently. Current negative sentiment in utilities will have played its part.GOOD's exposure to the rising cost of gas is not as great as its rivals - energy is sourced exclusively from renewables. And while there has been a fair bit said about lack of wind in these past weeks impacting wind farm energy, not enough is said about the impact of clear sunny skies on solar energy. For context, GOOD owns 2 wind farms and 6 solar farms so the company is well hedged whether it's windy or sunny. My main attraction to GOOD though is the company's growth into the EV infrastructure market. This market is going to see exponential growth. As for the Ecotricity offer, I expect the Board headed by an experienced CEO to fight off this derogatory bid. Perhaps there might not even be a fight as Ecotricity may run into its own financial problems caused by surging energy costs. This would no doubt lead to a fall in share price fair value here a £50m M/Cap IMO. So about 295p per share which is where share price is now.I topped up on the dip yesterday and found that all my buys were reported as sells on ADVFN.

Decent set of number and a resumption of the dividend.

Well the ball is now in Ecotricity's court. They have had a miserable level of acceptances at the first closing date. Ecotricity's only option if they want to be successful is to raise their offer to a tempting level - say around 380p or £4 and sew up some irrevocable acceptances. If GOOD is in serious danger of being taken over then they will look for a white knight to launch a counter offer to an increased Ecotricity bid. Ecotricity would be delighted with this as it would give them an exit for their GOOD stake - probably their plan B all along. Hopefully GOOD shareholders see a substantially increased offer in the next couple of weeks!

Yes the GOOD board will unanimously reject the offer and probably accuse Ecotricity of an attempt to acquire its assets on the cheap. It will be interesting to see how far GOOD go in attacking Dale Vince and Ecotricity's finances. It will be interesting too to see if GOOD seek out a white knight or whether they just pull up the drawbridge and try and repel the invaders. Failing in a bid would cost Ecotricity around £2 million so it's a worthwhile gamble. Ecotricity bondholders are the ones who might regret this bid. GOOD may launch a savage attack on the way they believe Ecotricity is run and the bondholders can only wince and worry as they can't get their money back now until June 2022. I hope the financial press give this bid lots of coverage.

Looking good here excuse the Pun. I agree good long term prospects and I actually think the entire sector is undervalued.I am more focussed on YU who have weather the storm from 2018 and growing very quickly. Good are making the right noises as well. About time the entire sector got a re rate but investors seem to focussed on the rainbow dream stocks
