the ability to pay, is the acid test for a bad debt. Rand can pay. It is money in dispute.

A bad debt arises when all hope is lost of getting the money.

Gerard says "...we remain confident of full recovery of the amounts owed..."

He would therefore be making a false statement if he wrote the debt off.

Still think GDP should make a bad debt provision for RR.

I would like to quote and emphasise the below from post number 3019. Because IMO for anyone outside looking in, this entirely and truthfully captures the madness surrounding the GDP threads and the scattergun misinformed ramblings that come from Dan Miller/Rodson (the same person). It truly makes me laugh on a daily basis that he continues this ludicrous facade of pretending to be separate posters.

"Dan miller/aka rodson was ramping this at 16.5p, claiming it was going to 30p and beyond. The stock steadily collapsed to 1.75p on the offer, where miller/rodsons post
as quoted by kimboy in post 3015, shows how miller/rodson was proclaiming for all to sell at the all time low. The stock steadily increased to 8p and has settled back into the 6's.

Miller/rodson called it wrong at the top and wrong at the bottom - no wonder he/she is so bitter over the losses that he/she has incurred on this stock."

miller, just because I was selling goldplat at 14p back in 2012, when you were making your outlandish claims of the stock going to 30p and beyond, whilst buying at 15.75p and 16.5p, right before it collapsed to 1.75p, doesn't mean I pumped and dumped it.

You were shouting from the rooftops for everyone to sell when it hit the all time low of 1.5p on the bid, I was buying at 1.75p, 2p,3p,4p and then took profits at 6p,7p,7.4p.

I have booked profits on this stock on both occasions, instead of spending my time bad mouthing everyone else and being bitter about things, like you.

I chose to spend my time researching, buying and subsequently selling, while you spent yours being a bitter, bulletin board troll, with an axe to grind over your losses. I made money, you made a pit of despair for yourself, so that you can wallow in your own self pity.

postings under the name dan miller, stopped at about the same time as postings from rodson1 started. The names may be different, however, content, style or lack of it,
spelling and the general derogatory, irrelevant and lying nature of the posts are not.
This clearly proves that miller can change names, however, he cannot hide his pathetic way of posting.

I see one of the drvastating duo just has to post over on LION BB.

This time it's KIMBOY, they must take it in turns to be perfectly obnoxious.

Just because S7 and his funny nubby are firmly stuck into this DEAD HORSE KNOWN AS GOLDPLAT they try to spread their special kind of sick misery everywhere.

I will not be responding to their mental deficient posts on the LION BB I will instead come here top further I
Laminate the madness of a punt in GOLDPLAT.

They will eventually get the message.

Meanwhile, and yes indeed to goodness boyo as Pvt Cheeseman would say, you did hear me right......... A small punt in the LION will see handsome returns over the next two weeks as its moving forward and upwards from here on in.

Meanwhile GOLDPLAT will continue to stagnate.......SELL!

nope miller, you are at fault. You purchased the stock at the all time high of 16.5p and haven't stopped blaming everyone else for your failings. You pressed the buy button, you sold at a loss, stop whining and man up.

AS I RECALL s7 IT WAS THE THEN BOARD OF DIRECTORS THAT LIED AND CHEATED THE MARKET THEY EVEN HAD BROKERS FORECASTING 30P PLUS.

Get your facts right as it was Miller that warned to market of this falsehood and both you kimboy and a few others came down hard on him.

But it was Dan's p[osts that alerted me and a number of others as my email circle will clearly show.

I SUGGEST YOU GROW UP AND GET REAL.

It's common knowledge that you have been pumping and dumping this share at the expense of other shareholders!

under such dreadful circumstances, I suggest all beware of you pair and of investing in goldplat.

THE MARKET KNPOWS THE SCORE AMND IS REACTING ACCORDINGLY.

Are you actually pretending that you own some shares in GDP?

That would make two liars on this thread, unless you count Dan and his invisible friend as two people in which case it is three.

Kili should now be producing at the nameplate 6,800ozs pa, and we are promised an update with the finals a week Monday.

The indication at stage 1 in Febuary was that Kili was nearly profitable and stage 2 would push it into a comfortable profit zone.

Since then in the last 6 months the price of gold in Kenyan Shillings has risen by 12.5%.

Most of their expenses will be in Kenyan shillings. I would have thought the only expense linked to dollars will be whatever artisanal gold they take in.

Kenyan inflation is presently 8%pa so that would work in the other direction. However it looks a fair wind atm for Kili.

Personally I would prefer some sort of bolt on rather than a full flotation, at this stage anyway. I think resources can be purchased relatively cheaply. It is the financing of the capex etc that is the difficulty.

The different valuation p/e of where GDP is and of a mining venture is an attractive possibility, particularly when raising cash.

Hopefully they push the button on stage 3 on Sept 18th.

Kimboy

I believe Gerard has experience in a previous occupation in mining finance and I would currently back his experience and judgement.
I think this could only work when Killi is genuinely viable and generating cash.
I suspect that a small mining company (smaller than Shanta) but starting to ramp up production and be relatively highly borrowed like Shanta could be ideal. The increased profitability and improved cashflow would accelerate a new and higher rating for the combined group. The shares in the merged operation could then be distributed/demerged to GDP shareholders and thank you very much.
Sounds easy but has to be the right merger.
