27/8/2023 08:19 | My thought is if they did put a value on the TFS would they then need to revalue the balance sheet and then this produces a tax charge which would drain cash for nothing Best to wait until everting starts | shareholder7
26/8/2023 07:44 | A good debate about goldplat and TSF Do we seriously think that DRG are unaware of anything to do with TSF ? The tonnage /the extraction cost/ the likely yield - for heavens sake they work in this industry and are going to contract with goldplat on the extraction of the whole old TSF So goldplat are not keeping quiet on this - or on the possibility that someone might bid for the company -again anyone interested would do pretty detailed research prior to bid and due diligence thereafter So I still question why goldplat are silent and release of detailed information is surely required here the duty to shareholders They must soon release detailed plans nd information - which is likely to greatly enhance share value But as others have said - time will tell 500 dollars per ounce will do very nicely Alm | ih_692232
25/8/2023 21:22 | yes Kimboy, its been super slow- but this is Africa, you buy assets at a great discount, but great patience also required- we are so much closer than ever under GKG, credit to Werner and Martin Ooi for that, it ain't easy. | shill10
25/8/2023 20:45 | I think that is right that the long term holders are hanging on for the TSF. I also understand why they are witholding the detailed information while they are in a negotiation. That isn't the problem. The problem is that it has taken so long. I also note that the metrics at the Ergo plant are a recovery rate of 40-50%, a recovery grade of 0.2g/t and a processing cost of $1380/oz. If there is any read across to GDP I have no idea. | kimboy2
25/8/2023 15:10 | TSF I mean ? | shareholder7
25/8/2023 15:09 | My take on this is that all the long term holders are waiting for the TFS and even if the share price was 12p today and holding at this price we would not be sellers until the TSF is realised So for now the price is not important as it's being depressed by the market makes and weak shareholders that don't know the value It is disappointing the price but in the medium term we will all be rewarded | shareholder7
25/8/2023 11:23 | There is an easy explanation for no information re TSF - they believe they can negotiate a better deal with DRG - and perhaps they do not want the info public to avoid an unwanted takeover bid before deal is all agreed with drg. | shill10
25/8/2023 11:15 | given all Mr Ooi has done since he came on board is improve the company profits, progress the TSF and raise the share price albeit not as much as warranted by prospects, your aimless speculation of ulterior motives with zero evidence is groundless imo. We will see soon enough who is right. | shill10
25/8/2023 11:12 | Low-I am very concerned at the seemingly deliberate failure to provide shareholders with information as to the development of the most important asset in goldplat ownership Time for the board to show it respects its owners Alm | ih_692232
24/8/2023 16:58 | alm2, we know the TSF is coming, albeit at a glacial pace. We also know it will make massive amounts in comparison to the current market cap. There are really only 2 variables that matter: What do they do with the cash generated? When will the cash be generated? If GDP had any regard for shareholders, they would have published an outline plan for the TSF including costs, dates, benefits and proposals for use of the funds generated. Imagine what would happen to the share price if they published such a plan with a commitment to return the funds generated, in full, as a special dividend? Imagine if they committed to returning 50% of ongoing attributable profits as a routine dividend? These announcements are able to be made today. | lowtrawler
24/8/2023 14:47 | There will come the time -soon where they will have to provide detail as to what the anticipated yields and profits will be They will have to enter into contracts to extract - public documents and these will provide cost information Obviously as extraction proceeds this will fall into goldplat accounts It will b a process over years -5? Double or treble in 15 million How they spend it ?? Alm | ih_692232
24/8/2023 13:43 | shill10, unless you have spoken to Martin Ooi, how do you know that is what he wants? Martin may want to build more pet projects into GDP and get get other shareholders to pick up 70% of the tab. He may want a larger business with no income stream. He may want to pay himself, as a key director, massive annual bonuses. He may want to depress the GDP price so he can make a low-bid. Martin's interests are not necessarily aligned with other shareholders. | lowtrawler
24/8/2023 12:32 | Martin Ooi is in Goldplat for the TSF, he will get his payout, and so will we, don't worry about that, he controls everything that happens. | shill10
24/8/2023 10:27 | We had a go at performing calculation some time ago and there are too many unknowns to get values that are accurate. The best we could achieve is the TSF must be worth at least $15m but probably much more. It is another example of GDP failing to keep shareholders informed. They will have internal reports showing the range of possible values but have not provided any indication of value for many years. Given the minimum expected value is more than current market cap, it should be transformational to the share price and if GDP issued an official forecast relating to this, you would expect a major impact on the price. The thought has been GDP will not wish to release commercially sensitive information while negotiating with DRD but I'm sure DRD would be able to perform their own calculations based on the processing that is requested from them. Assuming the TSF does lead to significant financial returns, the next question is what they do with those funds. My concern would be they reinvest it all into the next big business ventures and shareholders are left out. | lowtrawler
24/8/2023 09:56 | recovery should be well north of 40%, more like 60-70% I recall from previous discussions. Given it is all above ground then costs will be well below mining costs, how much I don't know. | shill10
24/8/2023 09:46 | Or can we hope for 900 dollars an ounce ???? 900 x52000-46million Over 5years Any informed estimates welcomed !! Alm | ih_692232
24/8/2023 09:38 | So 130k ozs inthe Tfs altogether??? 40per cent recovery -52kozs of gold extracted Profit per oz after recovery cost ? 300dollars ??-52000x300 -15million ?? 500 dollars ?? 52000x500-25million ?? Over 5years from extraction start up ?? Anyone want to have a more informed stab at calculating the likely outcome ??? Alm | ih_692232
19/8/2023 06:10 | A million tons at an assumed 1.5g/t gets 50kozs | kimboy2
18/8/2023 19:35 | thanks Kim, an extra 50koz wow !!! I had factored in maybe 20 ,that's a nice bonus, our day will come and its not so far away now. | shill10
18/8/2023 19:19 | One or two things from the presentation. 1. He said a million more tons had gone on the TSF since 2016. That should be an extra 50koz on top of the 80koz. 2. Recovery rates on the TSF was a question and IIRC he quoted 20-30%. DRD achieve 45-50% and it was said several years ago in an interview the expectation was around 40-50%. 3. The permission for the pipe is nearly there. The hold up is water licenses in 'some areas'. I think we can make a guess what is happening there. 4. I was surprised about the question on selling up lock, stock and barrel. I thought he got a bit snotty on that one. He said something along the lines that the best way of realising the potential is through independence etc etc. What Werner thinks is irrelevant in the final analysis. Whatever level Martin Ooi is prepared to sell is the price the rest of us will get. I got the impression the question had been asked. 5. I also got the impression that there was a flood of cash coming in this quarter and they would decide what to do when it comes in. IMV buybacks are the obvious route. | kimboy2
18/8/2023 16:24 | dinky00 and alm, you are reflecting my feelings on GDP. It's why I exited. I worry they will do a sweet deal with their mates and screw shareholders. Time will tell. | lowtrawler
18/8/2023 16:09 | You have to think they want the share price low so they can take it private on the cheap. They have Martin Ooi on the board, they would only need to buy 71% of the company which is £9m at current valuation - call it £12m to offer a premium to current levels. If they have so much confidence in the company, then why are they knowingly letting the shares drop. They're also in regular discussion with DRD, DRD could easily bid for GDP and the lower the current price goes, the better for any would-be suitor. | dinky00
18/8/2023 15:52 | The presentation was the same old Werner And the same old goldplat -vague information as to the future -and no explanations for the past click ups - audit / Ghana/ lack of foresight as to electricity issue (which has been running long in SA) - with goldplat you find out after it has happened -no definitive information as to TSF-maybe it’s getting nearer but no solid facts as to dates costs of extraction profits time scales -nor most importantly any indication that shareholders will ever see a penny in dividends from TSF or ordinary business. Why can’t they come out and say “we expect extraordinary profits from TSF over x years and we will ensure that shareholders enjoy substantial dividends accordingly That would get the share price moving It was “we will decide what to do with cash when we know how much we have and whatever else that comes along we can spend it on between now and then “ No dividend policy - a policy meaning this is what the company intends to do year in year out and you can rely on it being so “(assuming profitability) There are a host of costs ahead he referred to Brazil /coal project - what exactly that is has never been spelt out /-the new TSF -/the development of the current TSF-/generators The list goes on No explanation for audit balls up or Ghana licence The share attracts virtually no buyers It’s a risky share - Africa is no easy place - and the only way to attract investors is by high dividends 10per cent should be their aim Does anyone here know how much the TSF will yield as to profit ? Over what time scale and will this board pay a penny out in dividends ?? Or as seems most likely be frittered away on scheme a b c d….. Trapped investors we mostly are hoping for TSF jam Werner said nothing to make me feel confident Alm | ih_692232
18/8/2023 11:42 | I missed - what was said about when TSF deal estimates released? | shill10
18/8/2023 11:29 | another way to look at it is that there is no downside on the shareprice here, anyone selling now will regret it in the coming months | dinky00 |
