27/9/2013 12:38 | Mostly buys coming in but paying a lower offer each time which suggests the seller is still about. Hopefully they'll clear off soon. | ![]() protean
26/9/2013 21:47 | Fair point protean but having studied the GED director share purchases over the last couple of years or so in particular their timing and price paid is very often questionable. It is highly likely that they have cavernous pockets given the length of employment with Harken and Global and presumably have always been confident that in the final analysis the sum of the parts is worth significantly more than the value the market has consistently placed on Global. If the directors are at all serious in the 7 quid per share valuation you would have to assume that they will all pile in the coming days, having said that Alan Henderson approaching his 80th bless him might not be that fussed. | ![]() hyperboreus
26/9/2013 20:33 | I wonder why Mikel Faulkner bought on 2 separate occasions. You'd think with the seller there would be enough stock around to fill the order in the one go. Still, it's a positive sign and any further purchases will be even more so. | ![]() protean
26/9/2013 20:16 | Two stand out purchases of 20,000 shares respectively at 15.27 hrs, I wouldn't be surprised to see another RNS tomorrow detailing further director dealings, if so clearly more than happy to stump up 100p to fill their big Texas boots! | ![]() hyperboreus
26/9/2013 11:19 | "There is big exploration upside from new oil fields, which they believe coud be worth up to £7 a share, so risk/reward looks interesting with the shares currently about £1." That's certainly good upside potential ! | ![]() protean
26/9/2013 11:04 | Another purchase by Mikel Faulkner, price going nowhere at the moment as persistent seller offloaded another 55,000 or so yesterday. www.investegate.co.u I note that Paul Scott (paulypilot) has mentioned GED today, I assume he won't mind me plugging his column www.stockopedia.co.u | ![]() hyperboreus
25/9/2013 10:13 | Well, the partnering news can't be that imminent otherwise that director buy would surely class as insider trading? | ![]() speedsgh
25/9/2013 08:56 | more director purchases - can't accuse them of not buying at every opportunity. | ![]() wooster4
24/9/2013 20:49 | Hyper - whilst GED is not necessarily fashionable, it is well run especially financially. Yes, progress has been slow but hopefully with a third party to take charge of development that should change. If its any consolation the mgt have all been heavy buyers in the past year - despite their ages, they must be confident of a decent return in the medium term. | ![]() wooster4
24/9/2013 20:40 | At the risk of sounding pompous protean this has already been flagged in post 1968. Another interesting trading day in Global with fairly heavy volume, virtually all buys by my reckoning, in particular the 53,000 bought at 100p and a 75,000 buy at 100.33p in a 12 minute period around 15.30hrs, certainly out of the ordinary for anyone following Global for the last couple of years or so. I will not be attending the Investor Forum but would be absolutely fascinated to hear what anyone attending this event thinks of Stephen Voss & Anna Williams as I have emailed the company on a number of occasions during the last few years since acquiring a decent holding in the Company. I personally do not hold the management in high regard to be perfectly frank for a number of reasons, however bearing in mind the combined age and so called experience of the board and management and the relatively short timeframe they now have to realise the potential value of GED's assets I fail to see how even this lot will fail to enhance shareholder value in the next 5 years or so. I intend to stick it out come what may just for the fun of it more than anything else, I sincerely wish for any Global shareholder reading my ramblings that they prove me completely wrong by announcing an amazing deal in the near future thereby making each and every one of us a small fortune :-) | ![]() hyperboreus
24/9/2013 20:00 | Equity Development very bullish on the upside with: "We have been very conservative in our consideration of potential value, which we estimate at 302p per share, still three times the present share price." hxxp://www.equitydev | ![]() protean
24/9/2013 17:44 | Hi, For anyone interested, you can meet the management of this company at Equity Development's latest Investor Forum, which is being held TOMORROW - Weds 25th Sept at Fasken Martineau's offices in Hanover Square, London. If you want to attend, then contact details are on equity development's website under "news" here: I'll be going, so say hello if you do attend too! Cheers, Paul. | ![]() paulypilot
23/9/2013 15:41 | Well over 700,000 shares traded in Global this aft, it will be interesting to find out which shareholder has sold c350,000 (approx 1% of GED shares) at this stage of events at 99p | ![]() hyperboreus
23/9/2013 14:14 | Forgot to mention that ST stated that 'analyst Andrew McGeary at broking house Northland Capital will be "reviewing forecasts with a positive bias in light of the interim results". For the financial year to end-December 2013, Northland was previously expecting Global Energy to produce revenues of $45.8m, up from $44m (£29m) in 2012, but in the absence of the issues that dragged down profits in 2012, full-year pre-tax profits were forecast to rise from $2.7m to $6.2m. But with profits of $4.2m already booked for the first half, these estimates now look on the low side, as does Northland's previous underlying EPS forecast of 11.4ยข, or 7.1p. He also went on to state that pre-upgrades, the shares are priced on 14 times earnings and on almost half Northland's risked-reserves-base | ![]() hyperboreus
23/9/2013 14:10 | When the current seller is done, we will go higher. Mark my words. | ![]() lowflow
23/9/2013 14:06 | Huge volume as far as GED is concerned in the last couple of hours since Simon Thompson IC) tipped Global yet again. It would appear that a large persistent seller started offloading around 12:10 hours and is more than happy to take 99p, hence the reason that the share price is going nowhere, at the moment! | ![]() hyperboreus
19/9/2013 17:33 | 186p target re-iteration today from Northland Capital. | ![]() philo124
19/9/2013 08:23 | Anyone spot the typo error and how did lowflow actually know the interim results would be out today? | ![]() hyperboreus
19/9/2013 07:46 | Pretty Good. Quite pleased. | ![]() philo124
19/9/2013 07:38 | A reduction in turnover with an increase in profit is good, and as gerald` says the oil price has increased, looks swell. | ![]() miss ann thrope
19/9/2013 07:26 | Looks like a pretty decent set of interim results. For the second half they should benefit from a higher oil price...I think a bit of patience is required. | ![]() geraldton1
18/9/2013 13:44 | I think it will take a little bit of time for people to digest the information GED has put out regarding the Bolivar block. GED is also increasing the Bolivar reserves in today's update which may not have been highlighted enough by the press release. The company will be reporting H1 results tomorrow morning and it looks like these results will be solid due to stable production and reduction in cost. Than the company is coming to London next week to meet investors. | ![]() lowflow
18/9/2013 11:32 | The scepticism from a few contributors is to be expected given the track record of GED's management and the painfully slow progress and newsflow during the last couple of years since I became a shareholder, however having trawled through the 118 page Bolivar Development Plan for the last couple of hours or so I genuinely feel a surge of optimism coursing through my veins for the first time this year as far as Global is concerned. We know that the interim results which will be announced shortly are likely to be favourable in comparison to 2012, therefore any future positive news, whatever the nature of it on Bolivar and or Bocachico/Torcaz will surely convince the market that Global means business for the next 10 years at any rate. I can understand why RCTurner2 and no doubt many others have exited but I have a gut feeling that in 12 months time the share price will be substantially higher. We will all no doubt follow what unfolds over the coming months but I personally see no reason whatsoever to exit at these levels with Global's current production and cash flow, plus the huge potential that Global still has and with such a relatively short time frame to act, what is 5 years or so in a life time? | ![]() hyperboreus |
